Not looking to buy one (I wish!)

Just wondered is there going to be one....

1198s looks superb (I'll probably buy a 1198s second hand in a year or two - being a tight northerner...)

To me it makes the 1098R look poor value at £10k more....:-O & not a lot to show for it...

1198s reminds me of my 998s - great looking, great performance, all the right bits & not too expensive like the R models....

& yes I am on kid minding duty on Saturday morning & yes I am bored......:-)

Doubt it as the 1098R is 1200 cc anyway???

Yes but......

so is the 1198 now & it also has a basic traction control control system, ohlins F&R, radial brembo brakes.....what's not to like

Not sure what you get extra with the R

TTX shock
Carbon bodywork
Termi's & ecu incl
Race air filter thingy...

The shock, termi's and filter are worth having....£2.5k.....still £7.5k to find....:-D

I've seen nelly post elsewhere on the 1198 v 1098r debate, and there seems to be lots of extra lightweight internal bits, and the bike rides differently

and its an r ;)

I'm sure your right - I think it's always been like that with the R's - lots of small tweaks & mods - that create a much better bike - I know Motorapido said that you can really tell the difference when you're servicing an R - whether it's a 996, 998 or 999..............just really well put together etc etc

Ignore me - I was just bored...........;-D
