It looks like the rear shock on the 750 is leaking.
Can they be repaired or overhauled?,what would I be looking at to replace it?
Would anyone know if a 916 style shock would fit?(or for that matter any other models fitment as it make searching easier):puzzled:

I had the rear shock on my 900 overhauled and a new bottom bush fitted by UK suspension in Bradford. It only cost something like £75 + VAT whch was way cheaper than a new shock.
A new rear shock from Ducati is £525 :o
A shock from any carbed 900 or 750 will fit straight on. The shock from an i.e. model will fit but it is about 12mm longer which will quicken uo the steering and improve the ground clearance. Quite a few owners do this mod apparently.
All the other Ducati models, Monster, ST, 916 etc use a linkage and tie rod so the shocks ae no good for the SS models

Should you decide to get it rebuilt, UK Suspension's details are:

I have an original shock from my 900 if it of any use - but it is also leaking slightly.

Thats why I off-set the cost of a rebuild to buy a new White Power shock I think for around £375 last year....ok piece of kit but not a stunning improvement.....unless I'm getting worse at setting em up of course !!!

Good luck

I got this chap who works next door to ducati glasgow to look over my shock today, and it seems no point in rebuilding it as the central piston rod is pitted and will just tear any new seals he puts in.
So I'm definately on the lookout for a new one, preferably a showa as their easier to sort out than the sachs one I've got.

His name is Graeme Bell and his business is called Shoxx,
very nice chap,if you need some suspension set up or upgrading he's your man in Scotland.
Whats really cool is he's happy to do a ride in ride out service.:D:D:D

I've got a spare one from my '95 SL you can have Dave for the cost of postage. It doesn't leak and I reckon the top and bottom bushes should be OK but I wouldn't swear to it. Let me know if you want it...
