Paint colour query

Hi all,

Is anyone able to tell me if the paint colour from a 1999 748 would be different to a 1999 996?

I need a new piece for the fairing due to a little accident and have been offered the right part, in red, but its from a 748 and its to go on a 996

Are they the same?

The manual states that they are the same colour, however, 10 year old paint is always going to be a bit variable depending on whether one part has been out in the sunlight for longer, or been exposed to more road dirt/salt etc, could've faded or become discoloured so there's no guarantee it'll be a perfect match
