First 2 races for £120 but there are three races.... or are there!
Someone please explain???
and which races score points for the DD championship....aaaggghhh!!!!

glad its not just me. clear as mud as per normal.
so does that mean......£120 per day for 3 races, and the all comer for £25 each so that would be £75 a day......so two days racing two "championships" is £120*2 + £25*3*2 = £errrrrr.....a lot?
if thats right it feels a lot more than last year?

Recon I'll be going for 2 races Sat and 2 Sun all DD if that’s an option!!! Need some off the line and first corner confidence. Booked in for the Fri trackday as well, ouch, will have to hide that month’s statement

I've gone for the Sunday races on the understanding that Sunday was the Championship race day and Saturday just an extra but for no points?
And thats if i survive the Friday Trackday as they only had fast group left, so I'll be looking for a swap!

3 races each day will cost you £145
As I understand it that £145 will get you DD Timed Practice, a 6 Lap Allcomers race, followed by two DD races. So 4 sessions on track
My understanding of it is there is no practice for the allcomer races and grid slots for that race are not based on lap times

Got that I think!! The form says £120 for two races plus £25 each for extra races.
So L1,L2 and L3 on the Saturday (£145) just for fun, and L4, L5 and L6 on the Sunday are the points races ( also £145 for three races). ( and practices of course).
Its the 3 races in the class on the same day that bamboozles me. Seems worded just to create uncertainty.... but then I can be a pedant!
L1 and L4 are the allcomers races - no points
£120 per day and then you can pay an extra £25 per day to enter the allcomers.
we are just doing the Saturday DD and Sunday DD championship as I am not convinced I will get the benefit of extra two races for 50 quid and not end up knackered!

So beg my pardon for asking this if its a dumb question. We have two points races on Sat and two points races on Sun ? Total £240
Is it one Qual that keeps the same grid spot for all four races..
Craig
ehh can some one spell it out to me im confused. Are the allcomers races for each class (so L1 is just DD bikes out on the track) Whats the idea with that, just more practice or is it a championship run on the side? Is it only for novices or something?
Traditionally, the Saturday races (2&3) are not for points.
The "Allcomers" races (1&4) looks like an extra race for each class cos there's not many classes at this meeting.
The Sunday races (5&6) would therefor be the championship races.
Some assumptions there, but that's the way it usually works out!
Races L2&L3 = £120
Race L1 = £25
Races L5&L6 = £120
Race L4 = £25
(same for "M" races)
Seems straight forward enough don't it?
Gbyte666
05-Apr-2009, 21:51
That would make sense Nick
We just need that written in stone from someone official or some of us could end up missing points if they decide to just go for the Sun points and it ends up some of the Sat were points rounds.
I'll ring around Monday.

Thats as I would have presumed, however words like 'Traditionally' and 'Assumption' usually mean i've cocked up!
Which is why I get even more pedantic about what is nothing really.
Just a thought though.....if L4 and L5 were the points races those with a long journey may be able to leave a little earlier.... and leave the trophies for those who live more locally!

Yep, I can relate to that!

Err now I have read it again I think the Sat races could be Race 1 Class A and Race 1 Class B and Sun 1 race for Class A and one for B ??
They dont know the numbers yet and expect a full grid for A and B
Opps sorry more confusion..
Craig
Saturday races if going by last years format are non points scoring. But if you do Sat and Sunday you will get 2 all important signatures if you need them.

Thanks for that Lily. Clear on that one now.
I think I'll be calling NE to double check my entry form. Possibly the best way forward for those who still aren't 100% to avoid dissappointment.
Just the Sunday Championship races for me.
Lookin forward to a new track experience too!:biaggi:
Well I'm going to sell a kidney and do the six races, never been there before, so start slow and build up.
Thats the plan as of this evening, I'm sure it will change.:D

Plan on entering the 2 point scoring race's on the sunday and maybe the extra race.
Angelsey looks like a track i will enjoy :) Just hope it don't pi55 down!
I had a chat with a racer a week ago and apparently angelsey is very hard on tyres and shreads them to bits ?

Technically Steve, I believe you have to upgrade to the clubmans licence.
You can have the correct number of sigs but you are still the holder of an intermediate/restricted Novice licence, as such the bib has to stay. Unless I am mistaken and that has happened before..............a lot. :D

I haven't entered Angelsey, but the money saved is going to be put to good use.
My 19 year old VW van failed its MOT and although it would only cost about £300 to £400 to sort it, i have decided to replace it and adding the money saved by not entering Angelsey has given me half the money towards the 1999 Fiat Ducato van that I won on Ebay this morning.
Once I have picked the Fiat up I have to see what I can transfer from the old van to the new one in the way of the wheel rack and storage boxes, I may even have to start from scratch. at least I should have it sorted in time for following round at Snetterton
that's a shame Kev as I think you would have enjoyed it, but I know what you mean as we need to lavish some cash on the van. We are slightly lucky in being 'relatively' close to Anglesey so it's one of a the few rounds we will be doing.

Angelsey would have been about a 6 hour trip each way in my old van and would have cost £120 to £130 in Diesel as its a old 6 cylinder guzzeler.
And as I haven't been to Angelsey before and knowing a few of my competion have I would have been looking at doing 3 races each day including the allcomers to help get the extra track time to bring me up to speed so was looking at entry fees and race fuel in the order of £300.
As I said before the season started I would have to limit my racing this year to try and put some money aside for when my place of work closes in March 2010, although the reduction in mortgage payments has helped with the amount of racing I can do within a tighter budget I am now having to use some of the put away money to replace the van.
Still I'm looking forward to doing both days at Snetterton where I am hoping recent changes to the bike will result in improved performance :)
The bike is back together and running again and as soon as I finish adapting a USB Powercommander and test it I will be looking at getting the bike tested either on track or on a Dyno for which I need a van for transporting it.
To see if I have improved on its 55bhp as measured at Donny by improving its Air/fuel ratio from the Donny measured 10.4 to 1 to something around 12.6 to 1
I have invested in an Air/fuel meter and Lambda probe that I hope to get fitted. I have set the TPS and hopefully the powercommander will allow me to fine tune the mix to get the best results.
At least I'm not having to rush to have the bike ready for Anagelsey and i'm looking forward to Snetterton as the trip up and back should be more comfortable/enjoyable in a more modern van (power assisted steering, that'll be nice) and then hopefull have a better bike to ride when I get there :)
Over the previous 4 years I have missed one Snetterton meeting, the first year at Assen (Did Minitwins at cadwell instead) and pulled out of Donny after I had entered two races and then they changed it to one longer race after I had sent the entry in. I think thats about it over the years of DD.

I have been talking to Grant at GP Performance based around the back of MPS express next to H-Cafe (Fox's) about that.
weekends don't really suit him so if it was on a Saturday would only be a limited numer of bikes as the Dyno room is at the back of the workshop and the workshop is busy on a Saturday.
There should be one or two rounds where I can pay to put my bike on the Dyno, unless I finish in the top 3 (fat chance of that :) ) when it should be free. Donny was £25 so not to bad considering the information gathered
Or it could be a trip to see Davey Woods (yep the one in the RC8 cup) In Aylesbury or a trip to Mallory on a wednesday pm or even the use of a local airfield would be handy.

Ithe 1999 Fiat Ducato van that I won on Ebay this morning.
Once I have picked the Fiat up I have to see what I can transfer from the old van to the new one in the way of the wheel rack and storage boxes,
Picked up the Fiat Yesterday morning and must say it is a far nicer van to drive than the old LT35, Power steering and comfortable seats, I'm going up in the world
I have made a good start on stripping out the frame work from the old van to put in the newer one and while everybody else is away at Angelsey I will try and get the job finished
few mods required to the storage units as the Fiat is about 25mm narrower inside and about 130mm shorter, but i'll make it fit and improve its design along the way
