Hi all,

Just notice that my fuel tank is leaking on my 998, looks like its leaking from the mounting bracket at the rear of the tank,Is there anything i can used to seal the inside of the tank to stop the leak.

Thanks in advance

This is a known problem with Ducati tanks, caused normally by people lifting them up whilst full of fuel and over stressing the mount area.

Whilst one of the tank sealers may help in the short term, best advice is to get it welded up properly.

I know of a good firm in East Grinstead that does this.

Absolutely, allow to dry for at least a weeek and then fill with argon, before taking the TIG welder to it!

This will temporarily fill the hole, but doesn't fix the problem!

actually, it will probably last the lifetime of the bike, having seen a tank after 20 years with the stuff in, the only thing that had happened was the white coating had turned a slight yellow colour!!
