Fuel leak......

Hi everyone,

I've finally got the bike back on the road, and its fantastic again......until I went to start it up the other day, and noticed a load of fuel down the left hand side fairing. I didn't fancy riding it like that so I had to take the new 'Blade instead, bummer!!!!:bouncy:

Anyway, after lifting off the tank and having a good dig around, I've found the problem.......the tank actually has a tiny pin ***** of a hole in it, but enough of a hole to seep fuel through.

Whats best to plug it or put over it to stop the fuel leaking out??

Hi Mark

The classic car brigade use a liquid type sealer which is put into the (rusted/pin-holed) tank and sloshed around. It's then left to dry overnight - and it permanently seals the tank. Don't know what it's called, but any good auto supply shop should be able to tell you.

Do you guys have this stuff called `liquid metal ` in the UK ?
Its like blue tac what you stick posters on the wall with but you squeeze it for a minute then put it on what you want to fix and it goes HARD, you can sand it or whatever, works , can paint it also.

you can get 'liquid metal' in halfords or any half decent car part shop mate

yes liquid metal or araldite should sort the job out. good luck cos the price of petrol right now you dont want to be losing any! :(
