Just had a inspection of my dd bike and found a crack in the paintwork around the headstock :o
scrapped some of the paint off and the crack is 3/4 around the top l/h
tube .. gulp!! FFS!! :(
Has anyone got a spare frame for sale please ? SS 583cc class B
URGENT! racing at cadwell in 2 weeks time................praying :)

Options:
1. Get it welded. This seems to be the quickest/most popular route and experts agree that if repaired correctly it won't give further problems.
2. Get it replaced. Ducati issued a check/recall on the 900SS for a known issue with frames cracking around the headstock. There have been a few reported cases here. Some have managed to get a replacement frame from Ducati UK foc even though the bike is out of warranty by a good ten years plus, so it may be worth contacting them.

Hi Paul,
No Mate I sold that frame last year to Nog.
Now wishing i kept it :mad:
2 kind class B racers who can't make the next round have offered me their bikes to use at Cadwell if all else fails :)
Thats what i love about DD racing :D

Thats handy as it saves me lending you the one from the DD bike I'm building.
On my original Class B bike I had to have the frame welded up by the headstock, luckily I didn't attempt it myself but left it to a professional.
