Hi guys,

After a 250mile ride to Ghost and back yesterday I noticed my right mirror was a bit flappy. The casting that holds the fairing on has cracked and so I need a new one.

It's just to the side of the rev counter. Without taking it apart I cant see how big the broken part is. Anyone have an idea or know the exact name so I can start hunting for one from a broken bike?

The rest of the bike is in good condition so no idea how this has happened?

Cheers,

Wes

Hello Wes, its the headlamp casing they are left and right handed you need the right one, but I would look at welding and plating over it.

Because it is a diecasting it may not be possible to weld. But it still can be rrpaired by other means and its not really visable.

Cheers Phil,

I had a quick look when I got home and though it may just be easier to replace than take things apart and plate/weld.

I'll get it out and have a look.

I also saw your stand pics on Ducatisti. Another project for me!

dont know where you are, but I have a repaired one which seems to work of if you want it, I assume its the gold headlight bucket which the fairing stay bolts too...

From the manual I've kindly been pointed too it's the RH mirror holder. I dont fancy repairing it so......

Off to the wanted section of the forum now then!

Looks like a replacement fairing/mirror stay is in order.

Try Jim @ Bike Enders: 01708 455530 he has a lot of 2nd hand Ducati bits.

or Mark Magenis at Time Machine Bikes 07796 774598

Neither of those guys were able to help.
Is there anyone else who commonly hold spares? I'm off to riders to get a price for a new one but who knows!

Fairing arms for the 916 line were only £14, so you might be pleasantly surprised!
