what oil ??

What oil should I use in my 03 749,I have always used 10/40 fulluy synthetic in my last few bikes but have heard a few people saying to use a 15/50 grade oil. What do ducati recommend and what do you use and why ?

Yep,10/40 fully synth is what you need.
At the last oil/filter change,I used Shell Advance Ultra 4,.....not because Ducati recommend it,.....it was on special offer at my local Hein Gericke.:)
Ive also used Motul 300V in the past.(Ha! The opposite to what I did in that earlier thread!)
I guess I put in whatever is on offer at the time.

Hahaha your as loyal to a brand as I am. I have 4litres of shell ultra4 in the garage so will use that without worrying

I have the 999S, the manual give a spread oils depending on temp, right on top of the air box it is printed 10-40.

I use either Motul300 10-40 in the S4 or Mobil1 5-50 fully synthetic if i can get it

in the 750ss and M750 i use Putoline 20-50 V twin semi-synthetic
