View Full Version : DSC Trackday - Cadwell - 28th/29th June 2010

Right you lot, it's time to book it before you lose it-the clubs trackday is in serious danger of not happening after this year because basically most people seem to want to book at the very last minute-and the club cannot afford the risk. I may have to open it up to all and sundry on Jap 4's which I really don't want to do-but possibly needs must
So, I advise you to get to this years event because I don't think it will happen again-which will be a crying shame but there it is............

Now Ray asked on another thread:

No trackday fever yet?? , what's the score?

Is WJB instructing?-YES
Guido is doing the pics I think.-Definately
Will DUK bring some bikes to thrash?-YES
JHP coming?-YES

So be there or forever regret that you missed it.

Preaching to the converted here John.......need to get it advertised outside of the DSC IMHO.

I know Steve (Topitoo) had worked hard on posters etc but was told can't use this can't use that, so as far as I know gave up http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/traurig/sad-smiley-062.gif

If it's full of Jap 4s it just as well be any old trackday, so we've lost anyway!

The Hants crew have been booked for ages as has our accommodation http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/ernaehrung/food-smiley-004.gif

Just checking as a little Birdie has told me Dallas has got himself a RSV-R V4

Our local Aprilia dealer have a rsvr 4 demo, one of the batch used for a track
launch day.......
I know the manager well and while there buying some oil he chucked me the keys. :)
One word describes the rsvr4.. Moto gp bike on the road... which it was designed for.
What a lot of bike for the £'s imho :)

Format is as you say Kev, Monday 28th Ducati Only, Tuesday 29th Members on any bike.

And Roy, yes I know I am preaching to the converted-you lot have booked yonks ago-it's all the others-you wouldn't believe how many people will come rushing in with a couple of days to go. The trouble with that is you just can't rely on it and the club cannot afford it. It's really irritating when commercial trackdays get booked up months in advance and yet the same people want to book ours 2 days before the off......................

Rant over-I'm just getting to old and grumpy for all this stress................

Yep, booked yonks ago.

I've put my head in the lions mouth elsewhere, it might get a bit more interest or attract a load of nay sayers:devil:

Years ago you had to book early or you didn't get a place.

The trackday is pretty much a must have/must do for me.

If support is waning just go for a Ducati only day and can the other bike second day IMHO.

Just needs a bit more promotion perhaps...........oops I could be sticking my head above the parapet again:eek:

That was in the days of a much larger membership, not sure what it is now Ray but I would guess 50% of those days or less:(

What's happened to the AGM this year, thought it was a good place to hold it ???

That's true Gordon is has reduced, but also 5 years ago we creamed off 50% of our guaranteed trackday entrants and sent them DD racing-it's been getting harder ever since.

I've booked the two days off work so will be there with the cameras again.

If Steve (aka Topi Too) needs pics to do a poster/ad then let me know mate. Like has been said it needs publicising as it is a great day if you're a Ducati owner regardless of the politics that have gone in the past within the club.

It'd be a great shame if it weren't to continue, not only cos of the event but also as an accolade to all the graft that John (Monty) has put in over the years.

Hello Guido

Thankyou for the offer of pictures, however that TBH was only part of the issue/problems
anyway moving on I have redone this poster yet again and attached a low resolution picture.
As there has been no response from the MT to date the best I can do is supply a link of a
Hi res PDF file that you can all print out at will if you so wish.
Unfortunately I do not have access to any printers otherwise I would have printed some out myself.

This is the biggest event in the DSC calendar the impression I get there are only a select few
who even know this is happening . . .

I am sorry to say it's shamefull  and it's not the first time.

Booked my place ages ago - but agree that if the monday is all makes its just another trackday - if you need to compromise then make monday Italian only?
just a thought - would rather run with MV's and Aprilias than lose it altogether

Booked on the Monday, can't manage both days as I've already booked the Friday at Croft & can't afford more days off work.
Do we get confirmation of the booking closer to the event with details or only the automated receipt of payment?
What time do people usually get there on the Sunday evening?

Hello

I hope to be travelling up to Cadwell on Sunday, I guess leave Whitton about 2-3pm to get there for about 6-7pm.
I understand as last time I was there other events will finishing off so getting into Cadwell and finding a camping
spot MAY be a bit difficult, (if you arrive too early), but as I am in no hurry on Sunday I cannot see this being
a problem and most people have left by about 7pm. I will be pitching a tent for both days and look
forward to the track walks. Hope to see you there.:) as it should be an enjoyable few days.

Yes, there will be a guided walk conducted by me on Sunday night around 7.30 I guess. I will be highlighting points of local interest, florabunda, rock formations and the natural wildlife that cohabits with the overfatius motorcyliest of the species, a noisy little blighter, restricted in these parts, generally red plumage but tends only to show itself when warm and dry.

well the best laid plans and all that.

Having spoken with the splash and asked about a room a while back, I didn't book at the time as I didnt have my credit card with me.
Just rang them and they are now full :(
I've called a couple off the cadwell site and they are all full too...

So. Either I'll be camping (literally, no time to sort out other transport e.g van or tow bar), or I'm looking for suggestions of other places to try.

Heeeeeeellllllllppppppp.
