You don't need the week off Paul its on a Saturday. But if Paddock Hill claims you again you might need the week off. :D

It would be good to join you all. But Brands is 125 miles each way for me, Oulton is 90 but Jan lives 12 miles from the circuit, so its no contest really.

Plus I'm going to get the flying pieman to pull me around. :D

I know Foulstons chicane a bit better than I would like to and prefered the circuit without Hizzys the run down from Hilltop, through knickerbrook and up Clay Hill was really good fun on my Ex V&M racing CBR600

Then again the drop down paddock hill on it was pretty exhilarating :)

Brands is a touch too far for me just for testing so i shall stick with the real mans track Cadwell for my testing as its only 20 mins up the road for me :)

Brands on 20th for me. First run out of the bike. Only about 10miles down the road from me.

Would have liked to try out Oulton, but just can't justify the distance when it will be wet and cold!

Good luck all, hope the weather is kind. Got my tyres mounted yesterday, they do feel nice and soft, front rubber seems a little harder tho', but I think I'm going to enjoy using them.

Phil, while fitting the tyres did you notice that although they are the same size as the Pirelli's the front's profile is more shallow and the rear measures more like a 170 ?

Ghost
17-Feb-2011, 07:16
Certainly noticed the rear

Always the case with Dunlops which is why we tested the 150 and the 160 at Donington at Dunlops request to see which suited our bikes the best, Basically I was off the edge of the 150 in timed practice, where as Steve and Andy who used the 160 tyre still had the best part of a centimeter left,

Just had the phone call so I am heading off towards Holbeach late this afternoon to meet up with Mark and get a van load (as in wont fit in the car) of tyres off him.
Bit last minute.com which I'm not that happy about but at least I'll have them to take to Brands

http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/dayforecast.asp?zipcode=DA3%208NG&day=2

15mm of rain int morning, n 15mph winds too. Looking on the bright side, you could all huddle together to keep warm in the morning and then scrub the tyres in during the damp afternoon session.:p

17-Feb-2011, 13:57

You want me to get more practice in the rain?.... That wouldn't be fair on you. Are you going to nip down and be my pit b*tch Neal?!

The only site that seems to predict things absolutely correctly (worked the whole of last year) is this one http://www.netweather.tv at an unpredictable Pembrey and Cadwell it was spot on. Best not to trust it too much until a day before though.

Well, my bike is running and has new tyres, but it will remain unpainted until after the test day (maybe for the best!)

I don't think Buckinghamshire counts... But maybe the year I lived in Manchester affected me more than I realised?!

(besides which, isn't Andy Scottish? Hence my stereotypical reaction!)
