Ducati Desmo Due

Neil Appleby could not have asked for more from his Italsport Ducati
620 with pole and a brace of wins in a healthy grid in the opening
round foe 2011. On both occasions the rider from Accrington came home
in front of Matthew Lawson, Andy Challis and Paul Pain.
Top Class B riders Hugh Simpson and Ronald Jolley won their class respectively,

Appleby posting the fastest lap of the day with a none too shabby 55.821s

Not pi55ing on Neils chips, but the grid was only healthy as it was filled with class B bikes. :frog:

Sad but true. Hopefully Smellory will be a bit better if Andy, Steve and Will turn up, maybe even Tim?

As an aside though, Neil. If you do win this championship this year, don't ever ever let the thin grid make you think you haven't earned it.

Anyone that wins the title has had to stay on, be consistent and consistently fast. I played the long safe game in 2009 and would have won it were it not for the fact that I was up against the master of that game :)

Hopefully if I come out to play I'll still be able to get near you!

You can only ever beat the people that turn up to race you. I think any one of us would love to win an easy championship. Put it this way, I'd (almost) want to win an easy championship than not win one at all... But I'm not sure there is such a thing as an easy championship. I doubt the other Class A guys are going to let Neil win everything this year, are you boys....

I can see Matt Lawson getting better as the season goes on and he dials the bike in to suit him. Dallas is looking forward to seeing what his new 620 goes like and hopefully taking the fight to Neil. Be good to see Will back out there after his year off from DD due (see what I did there :) ) to work commitments and see if he's lost any of his 2009 pace.

so true, you've got to be good to beet me at my home track :)

I'd love to see more, faster riders on the grid even if that meant I wasn't at the front(ish) (even you dude), but we have who we have.
