The website is back, running on a new box with 4x the memory and 4x the processing power, so hopefully things should be a lot better now!
Unfortunately our old web server died after suffering a network card failure and a corrupt kernel. As it was the same hardware we had been on since 2006, and as part of our goals for 2011 we were planning to move to a newer box anyway, we made the decision to bring forward the move at the expense of some extended down-time. This does mean that we've not been able to update the forum software at the same time, but we will be looking at doing this in the next few months.
Everything should be back exactly how it was, but if you do spot any problems, please add them to this thread and we will try to sort them asap.
Nice one it is a lot quicker

Hello,
Well done to all involved in moving the site to a new server, I guess that’s what was done.
The site looks slicker with lots of live adverts, defiantly an improvement, and looks very impressive.
:)
I am not a member now for a number of reasons as I have had to revalidate my financial
situation and honestly could not justify paying the membership fees.
Looking in from the outside it’s been a very difficult year for the club, members and least not
forget the MT past and present. I do appreciate the club and the team involved has put in a lot
of their own time and effort and should be commended of that, as I am sure they get more knocks than praises,
so personally thank you one and all, ;) it has been a pleasure meeting you all. :)
My only criticism would be this site is part of a life line for people involved in DD and I will put my hand up
and state DD is very good for the club, indeed I stated so in previous posts, however DD
in my eyes should not only be part of what the club has to offer (point in case login to “today’s post” anytime
and DD is the main topic of conversation) and its clear a certain person is still very much involved
which is another personal reason for my choice stated above.
Moving on I wish the club all the best and Antoyne and the team a safe steerage for the journey ahead.
Regards
TopiToo
Don't understand the computer geek stuff but - well done to all concerned! Glad that site is back up and running.

"New Posts"? Where is that one?
I normally use "Today's Posts" at the bottom of each page.

I expect if anything it's the version of the website software being so old. It turns off a load of the advanced features in my browser, and I use Chrome which is probably the most advanced one available!
We are looking at moving over to something new, and Paul is in charge of getting hold of all the BB software and doing some evaluation tests on it. We obviously need to be able to import this current board as it has all the posts in it, but it would be nice to move to something a bit more slick with more features.
Well done Antony, excellent job indeed.

Do they make them for humans, Ant? I have a remarkable memory. I forget everything. It's wonderfully convenient.

I'm having the same issue :-(
try logging out and back in again.
It probably means your cookie is screwed up and it can't find any posts since what it thinks is your last visit.
If it isn't that it is probably a browser issue as the others have said.
Oh, and well done guys, I was getting withdrawal symptoms when I couldn't get on the site !
Its miles faster now, top job !

I've never experienced this issue on any browser or pc I've used so not been able to work out exactly whats wrong sadly.
Try using the new posts link from the 'Quick Links' menu, it works a little differently...

I think it's definitely down to the browser - vBulletin (the board system) tries to be clever about turning menus on and off, so things go in different places.
I'll take a look at the templates, but we do have an update to v3.8.7 of vBulletin in the works which may fix a whole load of these issues.
