Anyone have a 43 Rear Sprocket I can borrow / Buy for Snett please.
Would a 42 work as well or would I struggle to get of the start line ?
Currently running a 14F 44R

Thx

42 hasn't been a problem for me in the past. It is obviously slightly more sluggish, but not bad. Once I have decided what I'm using, feel free to borrow any of the others.

remember Craig may have a different motor, his standard gearing is 15/46.

I'm going to try standard gearing Craig, see what happens, that like a 43 with your 14 fitted, or close to.

Thanks Kev & Ron, I'll come and see you at Snett. May have to collect my tickets up there though as I left it so late.

I have spare sprockets too Craig.. Found 14/41 was right for me last year

14/43 is bang on for Mallory, Brands and near enough for Anglesey, but with the long straights at Snetterton??

Hmmm 42 or a 41 it sounds like a need to try then. Its a late 2001 engine with currently 14/44. I was 14/46 at brands.

Craig I'd try the 14/44 you already have and have the 43 ready to go

had this discussion with Phil roday, not sure you'd be able to pull max revs on the rearlly low gearing. Skids suggestion seems best; are you doing the trackday? If not, I could try it and let you know if I run out of revs...

Far too many things affect what revs you pull for one gearing to work for all (even with the same engine). It is more about how that person rides the corner onto the straight, or what gears he likes to use in certain bends... and that is different for us all.

Ah your engine/ratios are different to my 1995 SS Craig, so reckon 2 down on the rear from Brands will be about right , maybe 3... I'm down 2 at the rear from Brands and that is right for me at Snetterton.

Yea that what I was thinking Alan, drop 1 or 2 max. I'm already down 2 from Mallory as I had a 46 on for there but having done Snett last year on the same bike I need some more top end speed than the 44 gave me last year. Its prety much full on on the 583, well for the better riders and those that are too old to know any better it is...lol
