Temp Gauge

Riding into work this morning on my 750ie sport.
The temp gauge was bouncing around. Then the needle got stuck on high.
But bike felt fine.
I have cleaned the connector that attachs too the oil filter screen and oil pressure switch connectors.
But had no joy.
Any ideas guy's

possibly a Loose spade connection on the back of the temp gauge

Cleaned the 3 spade connections with electrical cleaner.
Gauge worked fine on the way to work this morning.
Result.

It does help when I have one of my own, had the problem myself with the one I raced in Mini-Twins
