hi- i'm planning to keep my standard marzocci forks and am having probs finding supply of different springs- dont want my forks in bits all over place for now, so trying not to get them out to measure them-
does anyone know all the dimensions (inner diam/outer diam/length)
thanks

I'd be interested to know the answer, there's two different length springs in my Marzocchi's. They were supposed to be maxton modified but I suspect at least one entire leg has been replaced. Pete

Threw my standard ones away in 2005 when I fitted a set of Ohlins springs from a VTR1000 Firestorm

have talked to 4 ducati dealerships today hoping to just find out the spring free length service limit (which should be in the manual anyway) and have so far failed to find out anything-
leaving me nothing but to measure the ones that are currently in there which tells me very little as they could be wrong ones or compressed beyond limit- why are these basic service specs near impossible to get just coz bike a few years old-
got hopeful when talked to someone at maxton who had plenty direct experience of these forks, but had no data and could only offer full custom internals rebuild at a price not far less than i paid for the bike
surely with all the folks who have raced and worked on these someone must be able to find the info

Skids seems to have given you a fair answer, ohlins firestorm. :)

It will be trial and error setting the air gap and oil weight for you anyway, everyone hase their own preferences. Most just use they forks as they are, then progress to different springs, air gap spacers etc as experience comes.

If you look in the DD series information section you will find some information including the mention of Firestorm fork springs and also CBR600FV/FV springs

with the Firestorm springs I used a 17mm preload spacer and 10W oil
