No Paul, that didn't work
The idea of having different formats through the year was to give us a chance to try the differnt options available with a view to deciding what to go for in the future if we remain with Hottrax

ie,
Saturday only meeting with 2 races with 4 outings on track (cheapest Option)
Saturday and Sunday with 2 races with 5 outings on track
Saturday and Sunday with 3 races with 6 outings on track (Most costly option but best value)

FOR CADWELL
All 3 races are going to be Championship point scoring races,

but in line with the rules only your two best results from the weekend will count towards your championship total, so the maximum amount of points available is still 50 should you win two races

glad I asked! Wonder how many, like Neil, believed it was only Sat and planned to leave early...maybe I shouldn't have asked ;)

altho very unlikely I'll be there anyway :(

Perhaps next year we could do this at the last round as its a sure fire way of getting everyone out for the last round! If you dont turn up you will be losing a minimum of 25 points and it will make the season finale a real clincher too as the championship is more likely to go to the last meeting.

Just my thoughts.

I must have missed the section of rules that describes chosing your best 2 results from a 3 race weekend... quick Bradders, put in a claim for a win at Anglesey against this rule ;)

... joking aside, this is probably the fairest option though.

Class B couldn't get much closer than it is... 5 points separate the top 4 places.

I don't understand the losing a minimum 25points comment? There are still only 50 points up for grabs, so is no different to any round in that respect. If you can afford not to get 50 points, that is the same regardless of how the points are awarded. What it does mean is that potentially the difference in points scoring is less (i.e. if someone is trying to make up points, they would have to win all 3 races in order to maximise their points scoring over the other competitiors.... if they win all 3 they make up 10 points, but to not win just 1 out of the three would mean only making up 5 points).

so what happens if someone wins all 3? Does the 2nd place of 1 become 1st? Or the pioints just disappear?

although my view has always been all races should count, no dropping at all, it seems unfair to those who have to drop Cadwell rather than a 2 race round; there is far more at stake over 3 races, even if only 2 best count. Imagine Ron would have liked the 3rd at Anglesey to count after a win and a DNF. Bin it/mechanicial in 1 race and you can still score max points....

I too missed the best two from the weekend bit. I assumed that if you did not turn up it would be three results dropped.

I still maintain that every race should count with no dropped results.

If you've earned them you should keep them but hey ho :p

When I drop my worst 2 at the mo I go from 2nd to 7th  and Neal C. from 1st to 5th and that can't be right!

Didn't see the 7point result at Snetterton (Race 2) and took off 21pts. Which actually would have dropped you to 3rd just 1 point ahead of Kev.P

But I stand corrected you ONLY lose a 17pt. lead and are Joint 1st with Hugh and then Ron and Kev are just 3 and 5pts behind you!

If I have to drop 22 its only right you drop 21 methinks ;) ;)

not looking good right now, not the pain (its only pain!) but I cant actually get into a racing crouch and move around

not that the numpty woudl be any better ;) well maybe on the straights :D

what makes it more a pi$$er, as if it wasnt already, is that Tom managed to squeeze it in for me to have a better-working motor too.

Knowing me, likley I'll do something stupid and be there anyway ;) Just may need you there to get bike scrut'd and help out, spanner-man Dementor ;)

Such a compassionate lot

If you have a look at the Average Points score per race for races entered and either started or failed to start/finish due to Mechanical/Bike issues

Kevin Palmer = 16.25
Neal Catling = 15.2
Alan Parkes = 13.8
Hugh Simpson = 13.5
Ron Jolley = 13.2
Phil Wilcock = 12.1
Paul Bradbury = 11.2

As you can see Kev P is only down where he is on total points after being forced to pull out of Anglesey due to the sad circumstances beyond his control,
Not because he had bike problems or wanted to save money by not entering.

At a track he has raced his bike at before so would have not only bagged himself a few points but would probably also have taken some points off some of the others.

I suppose its down to what each individual thinks is fair

I suppose its down to what each individual thinks is fair

the person with the most points at the end of the year, all races counted. Think thats the fairest; can't be any other way

some things are more important than racing, and they differ by the individual.

Although i;d still like to see a minumum combined bike/rider weight limit of 300 kilos ;)

in my opinion of course ;)
