I asked that question in May 2010,  [look back at the post] but got no confirmation from any of you as to whether the next generation  of V twins were to be of that design. 
So, was I right or wrong? 
Will the next generation of sports Ducatis have aluminium frames?

Oh I certainly made a few comments under that post, like to know what the new Superbike is going to cost to see how it fits with my comments.
 Got the VR on a Ducati bit right but still no cheaper Ducati V4
 
 As for Alloy frames, be a shame to go the same way as the Jap bikes, BMWs Aprilias, MVs etc, but if needs must. At least a Alloy frame works better with gear driven cams as regular access to do the belts isn't going to be required

Looks like I was wrong on gear driven cams, as 1198 has chain drive to a gear in the head, then driving each cam.

With scissor sprockets for preload too. ;)
