Looking to order some front pads to try and get to brands on Wednesday.

I've used EBC HH (redstuff?) pads before and found them ok, but what do people use on DD bikes usually? I guess you can use something more focused than the fastroad biased EBC pads?

Have seen Carbone Lorraine and brembo pads as well? I might not have much choice other than EBC in the short term as I need some asap, but thinking longer term options here.

Any thoughts appreciated...

edit: seems Carbone Lorraine and Bendix have been popular choices in the past from a quick search...

I had Brembo in the DD bike and I have EBC double H in the 996. Same calipers and to be honest they don't feel any different.

Sometimes it will depend on Disc material
But HH spec sintered pads from the likes of EBC, Ferodo and Brembo work well with standard discs, I'm currently using Brembo pads in my P4s with EBCs as spares waiting to go in.
My prefernce over the years has been Ferodo Race pads such as the CP911* and there later replacements, but getting hold of them for the p$s at a reasonable price is proving a bit illusive

I used to use Performance Friction pads but have used "normal" Brembo replacement pads for the last couple of years.
I think the performance and feel are fine with a stock 9*6 master cylinder but others may feel otherwise..!

Cp911 every time. However they don't work great when cold.

thanks all. I ordered some EBC HH for now as I couldn't find the other options quick enough and need them for Wednesday. I'll see how I go and might try the others early next year if I'm not happy.

i use the little square ones, I usually buy them from someone at the circuit when I discover that mine have worn out completely. I take whatever they have got and never noticed a very big difference, they all stop. some have worn out quicker but I couldn't tell you which was what.

so to recap my answer,,, It doesn't really matter.

so how did the track day go?

Kept it upright! :) Did the ACU test as well while I was there which was an added bonus.

I wrote it up on my blog for anyone else interested. Have a few things to sort over the winter but I was pretty happy over all. The suspension is way too hard though (which I already knew) so that's 1st thing on my list of jobs to do...
