Firstly, hi to all.

I'm picking up my 52 plate 620ie dark tomorrow. It's my first Duke. Had DT125, ZZR600D2, R6 2001 and R1 2002 previously but going the "exotic" route now.

Don't know what to look out for with these Italian beasts. Will be scouring the forum for info.

I'm looking to get a seat cowl and the front screen for my bike but can't find any (cheaper than dearler prices!). Any suggestions will be welcomed greatly.

Thanks in advance

Welcome lindley - but I have to ask, why are you going from an R1 to a 620?

Welcome...to wonderland.....Nat has it bang on, Ebay is a great source of bits for Dukes.

Where abouts are you? There are plenty of regional meets to get out an about and meet some of the 'characters' on here.

Good luck and Enjoy!;)

hi lindley i'm with tp-996 on this thats a hell of a drop in performance unless of course you've taken the route by choice ? .

go here monster club (http://www.ukmonster.co.uk)

you may find a second hand screen for a reasonable price as well as lots of helpful people

Id like to take a moment to welcome you to the world of Ducati nirvana
Im sure the 620 will give you some really good fun, but how long before you want to move up a level or two
I will be putting more information under my real name later but I am just trying to see who can work out who I am

Hi again guys

Massive drop in performance, yes. I'm hoping that my life expectancy with increase alongside that....

My beloved R1 (may she rest in pieces and may the bar-stewarts that stole her die painfull, slow deaths!) was stolen nearly a year ago (and my R6 before that was also stolen). After the mourning, I vowed never to ride again.

However, I finally succumed and decided to go the Italian way. I went for the pose factor and can only afford a newish 620 at the mo. I'm sure the 1000 or may even a 916/996 will adorn my garage eventually.

Will check out the sites that a few of you have mentioned.

I'm moving down from Nottingham to west London shortly so will keep an eye out for any local meets.

First proper ride on the bike last night and again this morning...

As an ex R1 owner, I knew the performance wasn't going to blow be away but I do like the torquey motor. I do need to get a type 2 screen though!! Forearms like Pop-eye after 2 rides (and no, not from other "activities")

Looking for a belly pan also for keeping crap off the engine. Waiting for pix from dude at Spareshack. Been a few days now so might just drop in on him.

Lovely sounding motor/exhaust (any recommended "loud" ones?)

Funny thing this morning though, got my Givi magnetic tank bag out of the loft this morning, only to find that the tank ain't metal (not the outside anyway!!!) No-one was watching so I had a laugh at my own expense.

And I miss the 6th cog.... Engine seems to struggle a bit in traffic between 1st and 2nd.

Top whack this morning (on a private road of course :saint: ) - 115 ish. Give it a few months and I think I'll be looking for a 916.....

In the meantime, cruising is the call of the day.

A few q's, does the K&N upgrade worth it for a little Duke? Any other recommended mods??

Thx guys

Tank is plastic on the darks Lindley, so I will relieve you of the tank bag if you want to find it a good home;)

Prob worth saving your money on the K& N's until you get that 916 you mentioned, but a bellypan will keep out lots of crud - which type are you going for? - Imola or the monza - or something else?

Whichever looks the nicest..... :puzzled:

Any pix would be cool.

Waiting to hear from an eBay store owner to see what they've got in.

Will keep the tank bag for the 916 :D . Sorry.....
