Just had my seat covered with suede, it looks and feels so much nicer than the standard plastic, less moving around of the bottom.
I bought a piece of Alcantera from a company found on the net (www.peacockfibres.co.uk) for £12. I then got a local upholstery to cover it for me for £15. It's worth shopping around as the first one I tried wanted £48 to do the same job.

Excellent stuff. Nice one Colin!
Its good stuff, as doesnt mark in the wet either.
AK has this on his 'monster special' - it had to stay outside at the monster weekend this year - and got wet (sodden!) for 2 out of 3 nights & 3 out of 4 days. Just had a quick 'brush over' when dry & still looks good as new.
A
not bad at all
i've been looking into buying a few meters of the stuff in (as im an upholsterer) and the proper alcantara from the makers with a 20% discount through the company i work for comes in at £50 a meter!!
plus vat and delivery:mad:
saying that you'd get quite a few seats out of a meter of fabric.
i have found a lot of companys that do an identical product for a lot less though
Glyn .So when can we place our orders  4D
Which colour did you go for Conker, Steel Grey?
I can't see any black on there, which is what I want....

I phoned them up and they had black, even thou they don't list it on the website. I questioned their £8.50 delivery charge and the sent it in the post for £1.
