JHP filter lifespan?

How long should these filters last, and if you do what to clean them with?

clean it out in a bit of petrol and then spray it with some WD40 or some other light spray oil.

As for filter life? For ever realy or a very long time!

Must say i though i had one that fell to pieces within 12 months But Jeff replaced mine FOC.

I was just wondering about that very topic today.
Have decided my 748 is running rich. May be something to do with mesh in air intake grilles being 70% clogged with paint after respray. :eureka:

Wich JHP filters areyou on about? Are they the old tube type filters or the latest K&N style!
