Anyone in Essex or the surrounding area with an air gun or access to one that I can use to get the slipper clutch out of my bike?

Let me know!

Antony,

Have you tried a clutch holding tool and long wrench?

If its any help will bring homemade holding tool to Army & Navy tonight. I am assuming the slipper uses standard plates.

Cheers Jamie, but I've already got a Walther P99 to keep the cats out of the garden!

I've also got a clutch holding tool (two in fact!) that are made from 5mm thick steel but still bend under the strain!

I've spoken to TecMoto and Wayne says the only way it's coming off is with an air gun :(

What was it torqued up to then when fitted?

186Nm as per the manual.

The problem with a slipper is that it does it's job with "popping out" when you lock the back wheel and try to undo the nut - basically turning the engine over!

The clutch holder is 1m long and the break bar is the same.

No joy though :(

Sorry guys - been out today trying to get it sorted!

No joy I'm afraid as I would have liked to get it done for Snetterton on wednesday but I'm in no rush after that.

Thanks for all your offers though!

Thanks again for the offer keefer but I've got family duties tomorrow before getting the bike setup for Snetters and on the back of Desmondo's pimp-mobile tomorrow night (tues).

Never mind, in no real hurry but it would have been nice to get it done in time!

I know this great little place in Spain, when you ride down there the clutch just falls off the bike leaving you stranded in a bar drinking lager with a blonde girlie pillion passenger.:lol:

No, but I'm sure the landscape changed to uphill all the way home! I have got a top speed logged as 12.4mph on the computer though.
