Rev counter & Speedo

I read a report a little while ago which said that the rev counter assembly was removable (pop-off) for security.

Is this true? I've not heard anywhere else about this?

If it is true, is it only the '04 models or '03 as well?

Yup,its true.Just pull it off its rubber mountings and unplug the wiring.All the clocks are the same so should'nt make any differance if its an '03 or '04 model.
