Just a quick plug for Rich @ Thunder Race Rentals in Bristol..(01761 453366).

Used there recently prepared 748SP round Cadwell yesterday...a superb little bike with excellent attention to detail/build quality & great back up. Bike was transported, fitted with tyre warmers (and transferred to wets when it started chucking it down!!) with suspension fiddling as the day went on.

Highly recommended for £250..less than an insurance excess if you chuck your bike down the grey stuff (not that any of you guys would try and claim on your insurance for a trackday accident..ahem..;).

Give him a shout if your interested and tell him nat sent yer !! I believe they are in the process off adding more dukes to the fleet soon..including a 996.

Cheers
Nat

Kev
Nat was never in a position to crash the "loaner". I built It so It's uncrashable, yellow Ducati's dont crash, they sometimes fallover. Silver ones crash though.
No seriously, Its Inevitable that someone will throw it down the road, but hey there is't too many Rod Lynn's out there is there?. The deal is that they pay for the parts to put it back together again, most of it repairs quite well.
Oh and they get me chucked in for free if they want instruction. Mind you most dont! Cant understand why? I dont crash that often, do I? :puzzled:

Hi Louigi. does that mean if the bike was a total loss that the rider would be expected to cough for the whole lot or is there a cap?

Cheers,

TP

Sounds fair enough Rich, the usual you Bend it you Mend it Rule.
Can't understand prople not taking up your offer of instruction, I'm sure most of us on here could learn a lot from you, so how do I find those 5 seconds difference between me and you at Pembrey. And why do I find you sitting behind me in A races just to find you clear off into the Distance in the B race, Bl**dy trophy hunter.

Well John there are Old gits and there are Old gits, now who am I to say who falls into which camp. But yes it it the same Richard Llewellin of Louigi Moto, often found racing a Yellow 748 with a white frame and pedals some useful info on http://www.ducatitrader.co.uk/

Well John you got me, yep the original "old Git" racer.
As for the answers to some of the questions.
If you totally wrote off a Ducati on a track day and walked away, I would probably shake your hand, call you a lucky barsteward and swallow it.
It is a well known fact that Yellow Ducati's are marginaly faster than red ones, so much so that i will have some red ones next year for the novice riders.
And Kev, gulp, I always used to scrub the tyres in during the A race, so I can go fast in the B race, where there was prize money. As for the five seconds a lap, well i was on a yellow bike suppose.
Rich previously known as the old git Llewellin :burn:

Fair enough, I like your style.

Sounds like a bit of a challenge though doesn't it :oink:

Well TP
I've crashed a few myself, seen a lot crashed and rebuilt the crashed ones, but my bikes will all have crash bobbins fitted, so it should be cracks, dents bars, pegs and levers, plus I have a stockpile of secondhand spares and almost self sufficent in fibreglass panelwork. So should keep me going for a few seasons I recon.

Rich

That's something of an understatement. Last time I saw the stockpile there was enough bits to repair an entire field of crashed bikes.... :)

Rich: Was Natty on yer race bike?? Would love to have day on that soon. Better start selling kidneys...

Cheers,

Ali

Mont
Would it be like a "special guest appearance" affair? Or would I be just the same as everyone else? I usually get paid for doing track days, but I normally throw in the after dinner speech for free.
You can get back to me via my PA who can check the diary.
PS: Can I claim for the Helicoptor entrance?

Ahhh, we could have a celeberty guest rider at selected NG rounds, would do a good deal for you Mr Weeks if you fancied a pop. I would let you have the 996 in preference to the 748. How do you think you would fair with the NG Thunder boys?

dave

Nattyboy
22-Sep-2004, 21:49
Hi Dave..unfortunatley 'Beryl' is no longer with us...the result of a 150mph (I kid you not) off at Pembrey....one of the crash protectors dug in which resulted in some serious flip flop rolling action...

Unbelievably, Tom, the rider, escaped with minor injuries. Rich is seeing what he can salvage, and is also still going ahead with the 996 project I think. The £250 didnt include the price of the trackday though mate....

I think you might have to join the queue too as I think a certain suzuki riding compatriot of ours is also hoping to use the bike for some races in the not too distant....;);)

Cheers
Nat
