Just bought a new suit and would like know what the best ways of looking after it are. After a ride I normally wipe it down but what about feeding the leather etc. Feed with what, how often and any products you can recommend? Cheers.

I just tend to sponge the leathers over then apply NIKWAX spray cleaner from hein gericke...it cleans and protects the leather.
Just use ordinary clear beewax on my boots...(even use it on my trainers...the old stuff is the good stuff!):D

Iv'e used Connolly Hide care for the last 3 years and the leather looks good and cleans up easily (after the forcasters got it wrong)...Takes a bit to soak in after applying though.

Baby wipes to clean it up - NikWax to give it a modicum of water protection.

Thanks everyone. Thanks further to Psychlist for letting me know about the 10% reduction at Cissbury leathers, came in very useful!
Gliptone leather care products are one of the best on the market just now, Ive used lots of different cleaners over the years and now just stick to gliptone, (i clean leather upholstery everyday)... :rolleye:

HI,
I use a damp cloth to remove the flys:devil:,then leave it to dry then use Renapur which i found to be very good.Have been using it for about eight years and no probs yet.Does anyone else use this:puzzled:
Matt
I'm now embarrased to say that I clean away dead flies occasionally then hang the leathers up and walk away.
Really should start to feed it I guess (leathers, not the flies). So will take away some advice from here too.
Ade.

Nikwax to clean the crud off.
Renapur to feed the leather - brilliant stuff, and have also been using on all things leather for about 10 years.
Nikwax waterproofer to finish (this summer anyhow!).
;)
Renapur - best thing ever for leather!
I've been using Gliptone Liquidleather for the last 5 or 6 years and can't recommend it enough - keeps leathers supple and smells v.nice too!!

Throw them in a heap in the back of the van and bring them out again when you need to use them......works for me:devil:

WJB, they're talking about leathers, not instructors!

Thought you used the abrasive technique using gravel traps to clean the crud off your leathers :sing::sing::sing::sing::sing:

WJB..why do you still have a Muppet Avatar?...Is desmondo "punishing" you for something else???
What else have you done ?;)
Clean em up with a wet sponge and feed em Ginsters.

Agree with the clean up but the Ginsters are s[poken for! :P
Think the water is shrinking the leather though, they getting snug with the back protector, must remember to buy a smaller one
Gliptone for me.
Used it for about 5 years, and it lasts for ages. Usually pick up a bottle of cleaner and toner every other NEC show.

I'm of the WJB school of cleaning. I get home and hang them up. In the morning I put them on ... done.

Dr Ruth says,
Once they have got too dirty to be seen out in, think about buying new ones. :frog:
In the meantime, if you are amongst people who might notice how dirty they are, stand next to someone whose wearing much dirtier leathers than you. Yours won't then look too bad.
If you are really bored with absolutely nothing else to do, and your computer has gone down so you can't f*rt about on DSC message board or look at porn on the internet, try traditional dubbin to feed them, but don't overdo it cos you'll be sliding about on your seat. :o:o
Gliptone, Gliptone, Gliptone.
used it for years.

Aha!
Now there's an example of male logic!
And your point is Ruth?????????????
Nuthin like a good downpour to throughly clean leathers.
Now if only Big G could mix in a little leather food in the last downpour before winter.
