I've got a 7x5 on an Evoluzione relocator, and had the same size on my old RSV. Never been pulled, and it looks OK too. I'd say it was the size to go for.

How about a 7x5 bendy plate? That would have prevented my trouble with breaking, and maybe if it flaps about in the wind enough a speed camera might not be able to focus on it ... (but don;t count on that!)

Hell, that took some finding again!

http://www.autoreg.net/

I had a 7x5 carbon plate from them, which was quite a think chunk of carbon. You get the carbon showing through the numbers and around the edge (the yellow covering is just cut away to reveal what is underneath it).

(hope that wasn't stating the obvious)

...Talking about plates and being new in the country and in the message board... my plate is so huge that is impossible not to be seen even from a blind cop.. and I am worry about cameras too as out of the dealear with a brand new 999 on the M40 between snow and rain, at less than the 4000 rev suggested fro the first 600 miles I was easy over the limits...
I saw on MCM ...GHOST PLATES... illegal but they look like the real ones and ..antiflash! Anyone knows anything about it??

HW 03-Mar-2005 22:07

This has been discussed on another thread jsut in th past few days, and the concensus was that they are a waste of money (as well as being illegal).

In some cases, the plates might even draw attention to you. FOr example, there is a "prism" type of plate that claims that the number is invisible when viewed from an angle as a gatso would. Even if it did work, and there is some doubt of that because the angle of view of the camera is wrong for it, if a police car passed you and glanced at your plate (as they do) it would attract attention by dipping in and out of view as he passed. You would most likely get stopped for having the illegal plate then.

There is more on cameras, detectors (worth a look at those) and the dodgy plates here
http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/camerashy.htm

It is quite interesting reading about the other tests they have done on cameras, guns and the detection equipment that you can buy.
