TP 07-Jun-2005 15:42

I tell you what Weeksy, I'll pay for your fuel to get to Snet from Reading and pay for your entry if you race AND you beat me.

Can't say fairer than that.

dickieducati 07-Jun-2005 15:44

i think im right in saying the bike is still round antonyes so assuming he is going he can take the bike there on his trailer so you would then just need to turn up and hop on.

easy peasy.

domski 07-Jun-2005 15:45

...and I can pick you up on my way through :D

...when you get to skint valley, you'll see me busking in skint terrace, coz I can't even afford the free train outta there!

I may even have to start working soon, coz sick pay is a load of arse and doesn't even cover my coke habit!

domski 07-Jun-2005 15:54

I'd love to have £16 to last me 3 weeks!!

I can't afford to leave the house and I'm eating the furniture. Ooh, just found a hairy chip behind the fridge... Sunday lunch, mmmmmm.

You've got £10 in the pot for race entry dude, thats 10% sorted.

Sure we can find some more, anyone?

We'd hate to see lame excuses prevent our friend from not racing ;)

ali 07-Jun-2005 16:01

TP 07-Jun-2005 16:04

You've got £15 in the last 15 minutes to get you there, I'm sure you can get more.

I'll put up another post to get more money ...

beancounter 07-Jun-2005 16:06

Guys, this is toe-curling

Leave the poor guy alone !

Ain't you never heard of male pride ?

TP 07-Jun-2005 16:09

What's to be humiliated about?

Just get on the grid and race!

dickieducati 07-Jun-2005 16:09

come on weeksy:

prove yourself as a racer

dont talk the talk if you cant walk the walk

all talk and no action

;););););););););););););););););););););););););) ;);)

Mark 07-Jun-2005 16:31

I'll pay any short fall in entry cost if Tony beats you Weeksy.

That is entry money for the race, not fuel etc.

i have said that when i'm in a better position financially i'll hire Chi's bike and race it .....

that's all i can do.

Nopes ..... you can accept the assitance of peeps on the board that want you to race m8...to come out and play with the dd boys.....in part to see how you go and see how good you are ..the other cos WE want you out there cos you are a mate ......

Phil

Mark 07-Jun-2005 16:39

I can send the cheque today if you want, and if you beat Tony, he gives me the money, oh so simple.

I'm happy to pay any shortfall, and I'm happy send the money now for you're entry, and collect the differance after the race from either you or Tony

Do you, or do you not want to race mate?

I've watched several posts of late where you've spent money on the van, and cannot race or trackday.

You said today, on the lines of I'm a racer.

For my money, I won't be there, be in another country on holiday!

So, what's it to be?

Mark 07-Jun-2005 16:55

call it sponsorship then. What racers want ain't it?

domski 07-Jun-2005 16:58

Can I have it if Weeksy won't play? :D

I'll gladly sponsor you a tenner so I can hand your ass to you on a plate at Snetterton...

Mark 07-Jun-2005 17:09

No Dom!

Rattler 07-Jun-2005 17:10

Weeksy - if you want to "earn" the cash, I'll offer you a pair of Supercorsas (road compound) and a pair of 208GPs you can sell and we'll split the cash.

Then you'll have earnt the money by selling these for me.

Waddayarekon?

Weeksy do something mate...
You're becoming the main character of a topic labeled "Chicken by name......"

chicken 07-Jun-2005 17:49

Thank you for all your kind words. I definitely plan to come to the other rounds to support the riders and watch some excellent racing.

Somehow I knew I would get a different perspective from you Steve! The problem is that you are applying your own passion to me and it's just not there. You shouldn't feel sorry for me either, my friend. I got to try racing and it just wasn't for me. The pity would be if I never had the chance to try it at all.

I have as close to a perfect life as anybody has a right to expect - terrific family, great friends, nice house, a well-paid job that I love, and an open bar on each floor in my office! I have several other things that I am passionate about and am not missing out on life.

Blimey - this is all getting a bit zen and grasshopper-like so I'll close with this chinese proverb.

'A gem cannot be polished without rubbing, nor a man perfected without trials'.

Chi

ps This other proverb is sticking in my head as well. 'Do not employ handsome servants'.....

pps before Saturday, I had no idea how the whole setup worked. I would say now that any DSC member planning to see any of the rounds should definitely get paddock passes (either as a guest of a rider or just pay the £2.50 you tightwad!) - it adds a whole new dimension to the event.

chicken 07-Jun-2005 17:52

erm....where's my thread??!?!

I started my reply just after lunch then got sidetracked for a few hours and just posted it now.

chicken 07-Jun-2005 18:04

Right, after dozens of people said they respect my decision to CHOOSE not to race we now have as many people baiting someone who would love to race but CAN'T??!!

I know it is partly the culmination of threads posted over the last few months but I have to assume that many of this afternoon's postings have been written in the heat of the moment and were not truly meant. If this is not the case then some of you have gone down in my estimation.

Say sorry and play nice, otherwise I'll be forced to yank this thread and then nobody will have any ice-cream.
