I deleted it, along with most of my posts on this one, just noticed I missed one above, that will go too.

Call me cynical, but if your taking that stance.................i note the bike is still in the for sale bit!

I really do believe to post in the for sale bit you should be a member.........all this **** about ........"ill post it here just before i put it on ebay"

Quite frankly, if your selling something of a specific brand, you go to the captive audience to maximize the return! People dont look to sell on here as a favour for the site.........they look for a cheap, quick sell with the biggest profit! (although i will concede there are some adverts that are in the best intrest of the site users)

I think we should earn the right to that captive sell and the price................membership! I see it on other sites, why not here!!

Yes I can certainly see your point, but there don't seem to be that many ' for sale ' posts and some are obviously of benefit to both parties as the item seems to be sold very quickly. ( There are also the ones which everyone ignores for whatever reason )

If you make it members only for sellers and buyers aren't you reducing the chance of a sale for the seller? I would suggest that for instance ebay is a ' captive ' audience of far larger proportions than this one.

Yes ebay is a larger audience, but with that comes all the problems we see so regularly, plus when selling a complete bike on there, i see it as something of a last resort. I know i look at stuff for sale on ther and straight away ask whats wrong with that.

Selling a complete bike on a specialist site does get the reward of audience knowledge, we all know whats what with Ducatis, and therefor gives the chance of a fuller price.

I don't have a problem advertising whatever in the For Sale section on the proviso that it's free to advertise for members and non-members should pay a charge. That way everyone wins - £20 per advert would seem fair :D

So, although I have been a paid up member, participated in trackdays, attended meets and rides outs, even led them, and promoted the club to new members for the last 3 years, I am now not ALLOWED to sell my Ducati bike here either??

The reason I deleted the other post, and those on here, were twofold; it seemed to be ruffling some feathers which isn’t great for the club (!) and I was pi$$ed off with many of the remarks I had aimed at me for my decision which I deemed personal – whether the poster did or not is immaterial as communication is what is understood not what is said..

The post was not one of political rambling, nor were there toys out of pram moments, nor big statements of everyone leave….I simply advised that I was not renewing and I had moved on and that I would still be around on the board, at ride out and support the club in ways other than the £20. I though some of my friends on here would be interested and it would stop people asking of I was renewing. For this, I get flamed, told I can’t sell my bike, picked up on spelling (!) and generally told I no longer belong here….and where were the WT then??

Some of the stuff people post on here about their personal lives is incredible, much of it not related at all to bike…they do it to share an experience, good or bad, with virtual (and some real) friends…well I tried to and look what happened, even though it was completely relevant to the club.

While I aimed to continue to support the club in promoting, membership, attending meets & ride outs, and generally helping where I could, clearly I am no longer welcome by some to do this.

To me, it stinks of the elitist, cliquey issues that have been levelled at the DSC for some time.

In summary, if I am not welcome unless I cough up the dosh, then I guess it’s another home for me. I assume those on this witch hunt will also go after all those without a roundel?? (Rhetorical) DuN seem to be a decent bunch, the best of here with none of the elitist ****, I think I’ll go there.

If you don't need to me a member to view the adverts then you should not need to be a member to advertise there.
I'm sure loads of members have bought items or even bikes of non-members.
Just my view.
