a lot of really interesting facts and opinions, most of which I concur with in one form or another. Also, most miss the key point; peolpe HAVE put forward themeselves, their time and their ideas, and are normally met by a wall of silence at best. So much so there is no one left to offer... and this 'ask not...' attitude tbh is way off the mark; members pay a subscription and therefore rightly have the belief they should get something back...where are the pin badges? the stickers? an easy example of the kind of things which showed some value if someone else came forward, and had the appetite, enthusiasm and expereince, and wanted to take the club on, would they be welcomed? if its such a hardship to keep it running, and life changes we all know that along with commitments, it will be easy to pass the reigns to such person, woudlnt it? Alas history appears that is not the case; there is a hardcore at the centre, which were pivotal in building the club, who either seem to have lost the appetite or other things have taken over oin their lives...yet they still refuse to pass the challis over to move to the next era I have been umming and arrring about the TD this year, as my membership lapsed in Feb and no DD means theres no other reason anymore to renew. The form is done, the Ducati is in the garage, but I still havent posted it. I think I now know why, and I wont be. I read my own post with a hint of a smile- on the ISC I'm seen as pro MT, by some on here anti MT, yet always post in the same manner...go figure :) |
I always thought you were a pro Paul ;-) |

I know why, you're too tight to buy a stamp  Now get it posted and join us on the best trackday of the year:D |
You both Know my lil-ol 996 is going to cane your 848's @ Cadwell like She did at Benson. :D Sod the Club thing Paul, just think of it as Us Hants crew out for a laugh like we always have. I dont go nowhere near the paper/membership/club owners type thing anymore. Dont care about any of that anymore. Meeting with Berks/Ox/Hants peeps is my Club, actually scrap that, meeting with any Rider in any Club for a coffee and ride is my club Craig |

Agree with your points Paul, we need new blood up at the helm to push new ideas and get this club back on track. Now get that form in and get up to Cadwell :D Chris:burn: |
I cant offer much here as I'm a newby but I live in Sussex and ride with (well the last couple of times certainly) Hants - good bunch, took me in, left me behind. Hope the DSC can sort everthing out but they are not he only forum/ organisation having a crisis of confidence. SV650.org (previous machine) have just had the same thing. Everything gonna be erie! Paul, You will never know unless you send in that form! I suppose it boils down to who wants the bragging rights most? Chris |
Another good post Chris B. Comunication is the key. Bradders, your post makes me think of the old days which I'd like to move on from. Chris says there have been progress, so I'm looking forward to hearing what these are and how whoever is in the MT (old or new) are going to run the club going forward for the good of the members. oh and bradders, look at the membership fee as simply the cost of going on the best 2 trackdays of the year with a bunch of mates on the best track around with a load of Ducatis, then if you don't want to be a member going forward, simply don't, (then do the same next year). See ya there dude WeeJohnyB |
