No-one better than your mates

Been having a bit of a bad run of luck recently, kids in hospital, parents passing on etc.
When I thought it couldn`t get any worse, the gas board came round yesterday to fit a new meter(every fifteen years apparently)and discovered we had a leak(never smelt gas thou)the leak was bad enough for them to cut me off there and then:o:o:o
Couldn`t trace the leak, only got a cooker and a boiler and they were both ok:puzzled: My worst fears came true, the pipes under the concrete floor from when the house was built were almost definetly the cause:o
So a quick call to me mate Tantrum(Numptystrada pilot)he surveyed the problem and by tea-time tonight he had got one of his guys round and a whole new gas line had been fitted from the meter to the boiler and cooker:)

Mates hey,the best thing in the world:roll:

Oh yes:) Those peeps doing TA Cadwell will know doubt bump into him on his trick Multistrada,me myself is struggling to get the time of work for it,as my assistant has already booked a fortnight in the Algarve:mad::mad:
On a better note,I`m now going over to my engineers to have a look at my bike and check progress,it`s been gone three months now:(

sparkin 23-Feb-2005 22:16

Just when I thought things were on the up,with Cristians(my 11 week old son) blood transfusions starting to pull him out of the woods:saint:house now re-gassed and my bike coming back Friday:D Low and behold we have no heating and hot water again:sniff::mad:
So a quick call to me mate Tantrum:cool: AGAIN and he diagnoses a burnt out circuit board in the boiler:pig:and yet again I`ll be in his debt as he`s coming out tomorrow with a new circuit board;):saint:
For he is a star!

Hey, Sparkin, two things: One, you need a new assistant. I mean really. Two, you haven't got one of them Ideal Standard Icos boiler. Apparently, they all fail on the circuit board. Mine did, when we were on Holiday a fortnight ago.

All the very best Sparkin - hopefully the last cold night you'll endure for a long time. Chin up :)

hey sparkin, glad your boys on the mend.

for anyone thinking of replacing their boiler, if you leave it till after 1st april you will only be able to have a condensing boiler fitted
this is to conform with the governments new part L energy efficiency regulations.

although condensing boilers are slightly more efficient than regular boilers, they are initially a lot more expensive to buy and along with the extra controls/pipework & extra labour to adapt to your heating system, they are considerably more expensive to have installed.

for a guide to how much it will cost, get a quote from british gas then half it
that should be about right:lol:
