What the feck?!

Just got back after a weeks holiday to find a replacement slave cylinder, so got to fitting it and giving the bike a little clean, when I come across this:

From a slightly different angle:

What the feck has happened here, and do I need to sort it? Does it have something to do with the leaking clutch fluid on my last ride? :(

Its a standard 14t on a pretty standard 749 bip, as far as I know the sprocket has never been removed/changed.

Give us a clue, is it the JAPAN on the chain?

guest1 20-Jun-2005 20:23

I know I know I know (raising hand in air)....it's a sprocket!!!ta-daaaaa

Gizmo 20-Jun-2005 20:25

i know its strange to still have the nut on but it is meant to be there :)

All looks perfect to me-apart from needing a clean:sing:

On further examination it is apparent that gosh OMG...JAPAN is the correct way up on one link, but upside down on the next link. Could that be the answer?
apart from that, nothing jumps out at me from those pictures.

Glyn 20-Jun-2005 20:28

the washer is ment to be bent over like that stops the bolt coming undone

if thats not what your on about. god knows:puzzled::puzzled:

khu996 20-Jun-2005 20:29

Perhaps its me being a ****, but I never noticed the 'fold' in the washer (or whatever it is) behind the nut!?

Sorry lads!

Felix 20-Jun-2005 20:29

I know, I know: NO CHAIN LUBE! It has magically disappeared!

Sorry, mate, if you're referring to the bent washer, it's meant to be that way. Otherwise, I am as baffled as the others.
