SP2 before it got fixed & after

Been building an SP2 from a pretty sick example. Its all complete now and I've done a few Practice days to get it dialled in, Pembrey, Cadwell etc. It rides real nice so thought I'd share the pics.

Took me about 6 months all in what with getting the frame and wheels coated and sourcing the missing parts. fitting new bearings suspension rebuild and adding titanium everywhere.
I was surprised how little room there is to work on a Ducati if you put things on in the wrong order it all has to come off to fit the last piece.
Good fun on the track though keeping up with more modern stuff on open practice days those racetecs really do grip..

Nice mate,very nice!:)

beancounter 16-Sep-2005 11:19

Jasp, do you have the only genuine SP5 on the board or are there any others ?

Jasper 16-Sep-2005 11:23

I don't know.I think there may be one more, but i am not sure who has it.Any particular reason you want to know?

beancounter 16-Sep-2005 11:25

Just curious.

Well, I'd like one myself but I never see any, they seem much rarer than the SP4 which is rare enough itself.

sparkin 16-Sep-2005 14:08

Nice job,but where have the white wheels gone:puzzled::(;):D

I know someone with an SP5...surprise birthday gift from his girlfriend!!!!!!(I have offered to marry her :P)

He is not a member though.

beancounter 16-Sep-2005 14:34

Well if he ever wants rid of it please let me know.

Might be interested in the girlfriend also....

Great to see a lovely bike back in it's full glory - well done. Not that you've asked for my opinion, or that it's worth anything, but I would have preferred it to be less an SP3 lookalike, but it's still gorgeous.

Would never have the patience - good on ya!

gary888 20-Sep-2005 21:55

Nice job Stu! It looks gorgeous.
Gary.

alan_db 21-Sep-2005 10:56

Looks superb, excellent job

Did you buy damaged repairable up in Scotland as I looked at an SP2 in similar condition up here about a year ago but decided against it due to my patience limitations....

Good to see it complete!!!!

Alan...

Stu888 22-Sep-2005 10:24

Yes it came from East Coast Superbikes in Scotland so it's probably the same one. It seemed such a shame to let all that original quality go to waste or get broken up. I'm really pleased with how it's turned out.
