\"Monte Carlo or Bust\" Having had a "mav" plan going around in my head for sometime now, i thought i would air it with a few peeps i know at the Nec this week;) so here goes....... The plan is Breakfast in calais Dinner in switzerland Tea in Monaco:D ok i know most of you are trackday gods;) But i'm sure there are one or two peeps in here who are just dying to do something a little off the wall:D Well B4 you all start reading me the riot act ;) it's not just about speed:cool: The art of a trip like this is A Timing B mental ability C the will to push out your own personal barriers:D it will be happening around march time 2006 once we have arrived in Monaco we will have two nights in a hotel there and a nice ride back up the N85;) just to round off those flated tyres again:D It will be capped at 10 riders and we already have 4 deffo's  so who's up for a RIDE OUT?...........mav;) |
Who's paying the fines ? |
Tell me more about this "bust" :puzzled: |
TIM (Iceman) i recon it's one for you:cool: [Edited on 1-11-2005 by madmav] |
Oh i forgot to say "T" will be at the RASCASS;) |
Mav, surely you mean: Breakfast in Calais Lunch in Switzerland Tiffin in Monaco?? Don't you know old bean.......... I could be up for this one-another mad thrash-or perhaps I should say mad MAV thrash....... John |
Monty ! when in rome eh mate:lol::lol: get ya name down old boy !!! you can be my wingman;) "MAD MAV's mystery tours >>>>>>>>>>> |
Now this sounds interesting... TELL ME MORE DAD! |
Via Michelin tells me London to Monaco is around 850 miles. Not bad day's haul. Rough idea of cost? The Ring, WDW, Dutch DD, it all begins to add up. Choices to be made..... |
I'd be up for this, if it were nearer the summer!!!! |
well to give you some idea of this" mission" The ride down will be Brisk:D we will be stoping in Dover the night b4, then it's breaky on the boat in (French) water and we will need to land on French soil about 6am:( From there on we will be stopping about every 80miles . To get the fuel stops in ,which can be about 25mins from fill to fill, we will need to average 100Mph now anyone knows or should be able to work out that average speed of 100mph means in certain places /conditions we will be riding in excess of 150mph (safely) fuel stops will be (first stop) splash and dash ,second stop Tea/water/fag break and so on what you will need to remember is, as the day goes on the body gets weary;) so if you have never done High speed long distance riding (This is not for you):smug: also the secret for doing these miles is to ride (Tight) and not race each other! Disasters can happen !! to keep your concentration up we play many games on route! like testing your bike against your mates Ie high speed roll ons , 4,5,6 gear:D oh by the way last year nothing would touch the 996R!!! R1's gixxer thou's etc had no chance:lol: Relaxation and mental agility is the key! fitness helps but i have proved time and time again (40 fags a day):o it's not essential. The will to do it is!!!!!!! well it all sounds a little crazy i know but beleive me when you are running down through swiss alps to chiaso and looking up at the swiss alps (Awsome) the run back is much better up the n85 and a little more sedate with plenty of time to admire the views! and a few more stop over's in Gap /grenoble etc so i'll see who's up for it then we will sort it for around Mid/late march .... Are you ready to rumble?:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: |
Myself and Lily can't do early/mid March as we'll be in Canada :D Plus I'm not interested unless I get a call sign ;) |
I like it. just need someone else's bike :D:saint::D |
"From there on we will be stopping about every 80miles" Tell you what Mav, we can do a hare and tortoise run-I'll be the tortoise and stop every 160-200 miles for fuel-who do you reckon will get there first??;) John |
Monty i know the answer ! so will u get me a beer in please? JPM your call sighn will be Holywood! and that date is not deffo we can go with other dates, but not to late as to interfere with DD Ring etc etc |
Sounds great although I may swap the 209gp for something a little harder wearing :eureka: I guess for that duration we won't need many clothes either as I really struggle with the whole luggage thing. |
