All the gossip and news please!!!

Hi guys and gals....you may have noticed I'm back, after an absence of three weeks-or-so...making a steady and painful recovery :(

I have had a trawl through many of the "posts" made since that fateful day at Cadwell, but feel that the DD world has somewhat left me behind!

For example....what the bloomin' 'eck is a 620R?

I'd love to be brought up to speed with any significant or even insignificant news...so, come on...who is doin' what, buying whatever, riding in what, on what...well...you know what I mean!!

So, come on...post it here, or if it's REAL JUICY gossip U2U it

Hopefully I'll be hearing from some of you, and here's wishing all you DD'ers and budding DD'ers out there busilly beavering away in your lock-ups on your race machines.....all the best for Christmas, New Year and..........

for NEXT SEASON :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Kind Regards

Welcome back !!! - the only real news for next year is that if you've going 620 and not got yourself lined up with a 620R - you're gonna be left behind.

And as for the 583s, whilst the new rule allowing higher octane fuel is controversial, if you haven't got your compression modded to run this, you're gonna be in trouble.

AK 03-Nov-2005 16:58

620R - AK has almost finished fettling our Snot so it meets the HP of the R, as Mutters & Rob Lott will attestify:cool:

No mention in the rules about Nitrous, so will be testing that out this w/end - as also the new turbo pack for 583's.

How is your bike Andy?

Welcome back mate.
Big news is Rattlers bought Lavilia's bike,Skidlids got a sedici
(only an 04 though-tightarse) and Psyclist has promised to be more agressive next year!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the change of control tyre to Continentals.

The 620R is what you buy if you can't afford the 620RRSP :)

ali 03-Nov-2005 18:38

God, you lot are terrible! All this misinformation and the guy's barely off painkillers.....

There's no real changes to the rules (apart from the two classes), but the addition of twin-spark heads, superchargers and rotary pistons should make for some busy fettling this winter. :D

Despite having full Corsa sponsorship, I'm not going down the 620R route. My 620 Sport is being rebuilt by Lazarus Ltd (in exchange for 1 soul), with an unobtainium flywheel, magnesium clutch springs, ti-ni coated choke lever, and 7 speed gearbox.

Of course the decision that Diablos were too sticky, and the subsequent switch to Avon Roadrunners, has caused a bit of a stink, but the introduction of a long round at Suzuka has more than made up for it. If you'd asked me twelve months ago if I'd be entering the world's first 48hr bike race I'd have said you're mad!!

Hope you bones are mending faster than mine. Must say I'm looking forward to the use of my right hand again.......

Cheers,

ali

that is RRP tho, and D(UK) are doing discounts for current DSC members who are racing.
If you get a letter from the race organisers (Chris Bushell et al) you can get 17.5% discount from JHP!:D

As I'm fairly new here I've had to endure the same mickey taking as you are getting.

I can however confirm that out of a production run of 500 that 100 of the 620R's are coming to the UK. It is based on the monster 620 not the SS620.
Lots of carbon and ohlins fork and shock as standard. Also 4 valve heads which are the massive plus for DD racing.
I believe they are all sold out now so we can expect one or two in the DD series.

Steve M 04-Nov-2005 14:32

sorry CC, but they have 2 valve heads (Desmo Due not Desmo Quatro) but yes they are based on the Monster ;)

Are you SERIOUS ???

Anyhowz...if it has a four valve head it would be a Desmo Quatro...and not a Desmo Due...and therefore won't be elligible for the series anyway :P:P

No more urine extraction now !!!!
