Visited Ducati Factory and stayed locally? If you've visited the Ducati Factory/Museum and used a local hotel, would you recommend it? We are going this summer and are looking for advice. TIA, Rob |

 Rob - drop antonye a U2u - he's the man on this stuff |

Henners, Antony and I have done the U2U bit already. Top bloke, lots of advice, so now I'm digging for a bit more detail. Ant' did the "fly in/fly out same day" thing. Thanks, Rob |

Imola's just down the road (30 mins) Worth a visit and some reasonable hotels there too. Zio's pretty central and cheapish. Good restaurant next to a scooter shop ;) Go visit the circuit and grab a beer in the infield. |

We stayed at the Holiday Inn, Borgo Panigale. It is a ten minute walk from the factory. It was a standard Holiday Inn type Holiday Inn. Next time I was thinking of trying http://amadeus.hotel-bologna.net/hom...dex-l2?clang=2 as this is where visitors to the factory stay, allegedly. [Edited on 8-11-2005 by mikesps] |

Thanks guys. I have heard that there are traffic restrictions in Bologna. Do you think I'll be able to ride into these hotels. I think I can answer my own question here; how else are their customers going to arrive? Rgds, Rob |

Rob, I've been to Bologna quite a few times, and I've never seen any traffic restrictions. The only time I've stayed in the city was back in January when the club did a factory visit. Though, this site might help need a hotel site. Sharon and myself have used this to stay in Rimini and other cities in europe. |

When I visited in an "official" capacity some years ago, that is exactly where we stayed. 5 minute walk from the factory. Pretty basic rooms, but comfortable enough - not that I was in it for long :D |

have stayed at this one twice and would go back again - they have a ducati discount and they love ducati riders staying... it is a 4 star place but don't let that put you off. they have a garage to park which is a really good asset and a garagista who looks after your bike - especially if you are on an early morning mission. prices may not be holiday inn???? but we got a double(twin) and stayed in luxury for 2 days. location-wise it is about 5-10 mins easy access to borgo panigale as well as walking distance(the other direction) to the centre. check out the website it is www.hotelelite.it hope this is useful |

Guys, This is perfect, bike friendly and close walking distance. Thanks for all the advice; it looks ideal for scorchio, mid June visit. Regards, Rob |
|
rob, sorry might have mislead slightly 5-10 mins by car/bike (not walking distance) to the factory , 2 roundabouts and some dual/triple carriageway which was fun, but it is a short walk from the hotel into town. |
|
OK, thanks for the update. Have you been to Ferrari (Modena) too? That and Bimota (assuming they haven't locked the doors again) is in the loose planning stages. |
|
The Ferrari museum isn't much cop actually, unless you're a real hardcore fan. I think most of the people that went when we did the factory tour first time round were disappointed with it. But I guess its worth going while you're in the area. |

stayed at the excelsior or something.. just oposite the train station, on a main street, 10mins walk from old center. pretty decent. there is a direct bus from the train station to the main airport. |

Mr S organised our Imola trip and I would recommend staying in Misano..nice sleepy little town and the zio that he sorted for us all was excellent Nat |
