P8 Can anyone supply me with a photo of a P8 and the wiring loom left hand side from the front of the bike. I have had my bike in bits over winter and I am re fitting the sub fame etc and it ain't going back how it came off. Help!!!.............. Don't say it I should of took a photo before I took it apart.:barfy::( |
God loves a smart arse! It's wasn't funny yesterday in the garage at -2 degrees. It's driving me nuts. Your mood sums it up................. [Edited on 30-12-2005 by M55Russ] |
Best of luck bud. Both you and I will be looking forward to to a better year. All the best...........PLF branch;) |
There's a beer, bacon butties or copious ammounts of tea to the first pic. from frustrated, angry man in small damp cold garage!!!! [Edited on 30-12-2005 by M55Russ] |
not a photo, but see if this helps??? |
I was gonna post the same piccie! What exactly is it you can't get right? I've just put my bike back together with a P8...so now would be a good time to ask. |
Here you go...from mine before it was stripped. Theres a couple of rogue wires in there from the quickshifter...but most should be identifiable. I have actually routed them slightly differently on the rebuild in a bid to hide them a little better. Looks good at the moment, but we shall see when all the bodywork goes back on and none of it will fit! |
any use!?!? |
lastly |
I'll get there in a mo...just re-read your post and you say the left hand side from the front...I guess that means the clutch casing side, in which case you want these... |
 |
:eureka: |
finally...i know they are a bit ropey. I have the workshop manual here which has the diagrams in. I'll try and sort out the pages you need and put them up here if you still need them??? |
Thanks thats a great help. It was when I came to put the rear sub frame on I was not certain the loom passed between the sub frame or went over the top if you get what I mean. I had a bad experience before when the loom passed over the sub frame and the seat unit began to wear through the loom. Sorry I meant the near side (clutch handle bar side). It is just where the sub frame bolts to the frame and how the 2 recifiers are routed to the side of the P8. Thanks Russ By the way, nice carpet Harv thats better than I have in my lounge!!!!!!!!! [Edited on 30-12-2005 by M55Russ] [Edited on 30-12-2005 by M55Russ] |
harv have you finally taken the bike out of the shed and into the house ?? hows your bike going now mate, all set for a track attack day ?? |
Nah...although there is plenty of room in the house, I don't think I can try that one with the other-halve...it just wouldn't be worth the grief! The bike is over at her parents in a heated converted out-building...absolutely perfect! About 15% left to do now, just waiting for a few more bits of bling and then just waiting for the better whether. Can't wait...in the mean time I'm getting out and about on the DR!!!:bouncy::bouncy: |
you have been getting out and about harv. ive been borrowing the ccm r30 for a bit of fun off the bloke i do my cbt training for, saves cleaning the duke. what bits of bling you getting, didnt realise the sp5 needed any |
Titanium nuts and bolts, replacing a few tired looking bits...this and that. Haven't spent a load on it to be honest, I like to keep it looking pretty standard...but when you look a bit closer:cool: I'm also enjoying just taking my time and making sure everything is spot on...usually when working in my shed or outside, I have to rush things a little, but where it is now, I have all the time in the world, just a shame I don't have the funds to match! |
the funds are always a problem, theres loads more i'd like but cant afford them just yet, carbon air tubes and airbox would be nice. hopefully get some cheap on ebay whilst people are still paying off xmas |
