BArrys Fairings

Gave Barry a call today, and ordered a track fairing set for my 748R, he was great on the fone and is doing me the full corse kit i.e flat sides belly pan nose cone and seat unit in pre preg RED with number boards on nose and seat, rear bracket, and all fastenings. Delivered for £300!! Wot a deal, cant wait till it arrives but going by what JPM and Lily have said it should be top stuff!

Well reccomended so far!

Spoke to him a couple of weeks back too Chris..really nice guy..unfortunatley he only had mouldings for the later flat sided stuff, but i've no doubt he would have seen my moola otherwise !

And you'll even have something nice to polish them with by the weekend..;):D

Barry's good work:

Anyone got a link for a website or contact number for barrys fairings?

All that kit for £300 looks a good deal to me.

JPM 09-Feb-2006 10:54

DC he doesn't have a website, he's a normal guy doing a good job, word of mouth keeps him going, his number is 07748 765842, tell him I sent you

MARTIN H 09-Feb-2006 11:54

Seems a good deal to me. I am thinking about getting a set as I fancy doing a few trackdays this year. Have only done Oulton in the wet and about 20 laps of Donnington both about 5 years ago. Seems a shame to have the 996R and not do a few track days.

Lily 09-Feb-2006 23:44

Martin

If you decide to order some we can always pick them up for you and drop off next time we are passing :)

Cheers Lily, I will take you up on that. :) I am thinking of getting black with no headlight holes. Are these the same fairings you had last year at RTL? They looked very good quality. I assume that maybe you will be coming up this way next time you nip up to Penrith?

Thanks for the offer, Just need someone to show me the way round Oulton now!

JPM 10-Feb-2006 14:04

Martin, that's right yes, Bob's fairing's are Barry's stuff, he's got a mold for 998RS bodywork, which fits straight on, the airtubes are slightly larger (being an RS mold) but that makes no odds, and the seat unit needs a bracket as it has no locking mechanism, but I believe Barry supplies them with the kit now.

You can also ask for a sidestand cut-out if needed, if you order some let me know he's only 15 mins away from work and I can nip out and collect if needed

Black. Sounds good. Alway thought about a black Ducati, if done right I think they look fantastic.

I couldn't agree with you more.

The nosecone, bellypan and the LHS fairing panel are all Barry's in this pic of my 998R.

MARTIN H 10-Feb-2006 15:09

Cheers Jon & Lily. I will try and give him a ring later today. When you mention the airtubes being larger I assume you mean the apertures on the nose are slightly larger? I take it everything still lines up ok? Sidestand cut out I will go for. Thanks both of you for your kind offer to pick it up for me.

Tony your 998R looks good in black. Black wheels next?

JPM 10-Feb-2006 15:14

Martin, yes that's what I was trying to get across sorry... it still fits fine

I've got no plans for her at the moment. But black wheels could well be on the agenda - If I buy any wheels for her though, they'll be some form of lightweight ones. Carbon with mag centres is my current preference.

We'll see ...
