Sport Classic Ebay scam?

Looks like an ebay scam US Spec bike with reflectors etc ?

It's easier than the reflectors to say it's a US bike-look at the registration plate-might be worth asking him some questions like 'since you say your location is Derby, how come the registration is American?'

its such a shame that more & more people in the world cant be bothered to go out and earn an honest living but instead try and rip off those who do......whats more disturbing to me is that some are doing it completely legally...such as insurance companies, banks, loan companies and accident claim con artists......etc etc.....

The US phrasing "titled" and spelling of "tires" is another giveaway. Clearly a copied US auction.

Bidding is up to £5101.00, surely he,s having his chain yanked ?

andys 900ss 12-May-2006 22:55

You certainly dont get overhead cables and pylons like that in Derbyshire??

Also no paypal, no feedback score, will post to Europe?

You could bid, then arrange to collect with a bankers draft, see where it is?

Ebays fantastic privacy policy won't let me email the high bidder to tell him to be careful.

Why use ebay?

Ebay is so easy for scum bags and villains of the world to rip us off. It's successful because of sellers 'greed' to have buyers bidding against each other before the deadline, and idealy get a good price in a very short space of time. 'Greed' takes over with the buyers as well, they see something for a very low price and put in a bid. Before they know it they're in a bidding war and end up buying something they haven't seen.
When 'greed' takes over common sense goes out of the window.
I like to see how much someone wants for a bike and offer according to the condition when I've seen it. Not bid against the sellers mate to push the price up before I've had a chance to look at it.
Take a look at www.od-racing.co.uk to see an alternative way of dealing in a relaxed way.
