DD, Why should I do it in 2007? Looking for a new challenge next year (apart from the new business, doing up the house and the Training/Competions I already have going) I`m thinking about doing something else...after all, life is for living!!! DD could be it...So why should I ??? If I was gonna do it, it would be on a near standard bike or an Ex DD bike, not gonna be cheque book racing,I`m just looking for a bit more fun at the weekends. |

A hairdresser looking for something for the week end.........  |
because you'll regret if you don't do it. It's just the best thing which happened to me since I live in your country. |

Simple. To prove to yourself where you 'are' in the overall scope of things. To know how hard you can try when you push the limits. Ignore all the garbage about the paddock and the banter... .that's all a bonus... What it's all about is trying to be the best you can be. |

because it is a superb thrill and great fun. the atmosphere in the paddock is great; unbelievable from what you may read on here but it is. doing it on a near standard bike will be no handicap. if you are a quick rider you'll be up there, if you are slow you'll be at the back but will still have enormous fun and plenty of battles throughout the season. if you fancy a go on a bike. i will be at a few tyrackdays over the winter and you are welcome to have a try on mine. |

Weeksy are you joining us next season? I thought I saw at some point a message of wanting to swap your R1 for a DD bike + dosh? |

Tried to swap my R1 with Couchie for 'Mong' but the deal fell through as he doesn't really want an R1. it's currently up for sale, if it goes, i'll be buying Mong or Glens bike. If not... then no, only as a spanner man. |
Not knowing much about it.... How much time is needed to take part in it? How many rounds are in the series and is it a whole weekend thing, Ie: Practice on Friday, Superpoles on Saturday and race on Sunday? Or is it, turn up sunday, leather up and race? |

You choose what you want to do fella and how much to committ to. I tend to do the latter of your options as I usually swim on the Saturday night. Turn up Sunday am and race... Go for it! You wont regret it if you do, you will if you don't !! Andy |

usually a one day meeting Qually in the morning followed by 2 races in the day 8 rounds inc 1 at assen some arrive on the day ..others the night b4..depends on location i guess echoe above comments....the DD paddock and the racing is a brilliant place to be and im sure being the competative man you are will really enjoy the racing.......... if i can help in anyway just ask phil |
No reason not to do it...I think. If you've got the time and the desire... Learn a lot about riding on track, push your personal limits, share experiences with like minded people..... Its as cheap or expensive as you want to make it, I ran a 583 all year on 1 set of tyres and 1 oil change, you can enter just the DD races or other classes at the race days. It's all good, contrary to waht you may read sometimes. |
i have developed as a ride, more this year than what i ever had. iv pushed my little 583 to its limits and some times a bit to far. when you race on a weekend and you know your on the limit of your bike and you got a few of your friends around you doing the same thing its amazing. come join in mate everyone is fantastic and you lean so much i know i have this year and i think im about 10 sec a lap faster than what i used to be on trackdays |
2 Attachment(s) Time to change you mood cleggy, you got "that top three finish" and from my recollection it was a pretty popular result with the rest of the paddock after your season long efforts. John seems to have given you a gool old "yeeeehaaaa" Well done mate and to all the rest who have made it a cracking season !!!! Oh and don't drink all that wine at once :D |

Ha ha in the true spirit of the Desmo due...:( |
If you like a schizophrenic race series then this is the one for you! I sometimes find it hard to believe the fun and camaradery that goes on at race meetings and the garbage that goes on on this forum relates to the same race series. Sad really. |
