New Wheels Yesterday at about 11am I decided after looking at lots of cars I wanted an 1198S so I called Dave at JHP and asked what he had in, today at the same time I picked up an ex demo 1198S in red :) Been out for this eveing and just come in from a fast ride, damn this bike is brutal ! First tank of fuel and the light came on at 58mls !!!, a big tank is a must then but the rest of the bike is just awesome, wheelies are easily picked up in 2nd and 3rd on the flat or 4th/5th over small bumps, rest of bike as fantastic as the engine ! So thanks to Dave at JHP for sorting one out so quick top service ![]() |

Sounds like the ideal bike to me :) |
Rock....in!! Oh yes, everything I read, hear etc says the are the big dogs ********...good work CC. |
Hmm traction control and wheelies are interesting, got in on a low level of 3 out of 8 and it allows power wheelies and ok wheelies, however get it up close to the balance point and when the front wheel stops spinning it cuts the power and the bike comes down with the biggest crash you can imagine, made me jump so TC is gonna be turned off now LOL |

Maybe you ought to fit it to my DD bike instead, lol ;) Andy |

Fuel consumption taking it easyish has gone from full tank to light on of 84 miles, better than 58 miles when going for it. Found out the TC cuts the ignition and fuel when the front wheel stops spinning at 110mph in 3rd resulting in an instant drop of the front wheel from balance point, safety feature my arse LOL, lesson learned leave TC off for the big wheelies. Next up a bigger tank, taller screen, higher bars and if Nelly lets me multistrada panniers....1198St ;) |
