848/1198 standard cans the same??
 

Are the standard OEM road legal silencers for the 848 and 1198 the same?
I appreciate the headers will be different, but will the short section of link pipe attached to the silencer fit the rest of the system?

I've got a 2010 1198 with slash cut carbon termi's on standard system and would like a quiet option for trackdays and MOTs.

Although the part numbers are different, there's lots of anecdotal evidence, and listings on ebay, that say the end cans are the same.

Apparently on the 848 the 2008/09 were silver, 2010 had black sleeves and 2011/12 were an inch longer!

Is fitting an db Killer an option? Might be cheaper and less hassle!

Hello chap, quite well thankyou and well overdue a good chinwag!
I have the standard DB killers that came with the cans, they're ok, but I worry about them building up back pressure and destroying the carbon sleeves.
I have seen this before. And they're still loud for trackdays.
I think the standard pipes are all the same, except for the spring clips on the 1098 and black sleeves on the S models.

Update, I got hold of a pair of standard cans from an 848 Evo for peanuts, and they fit my 1198 perfectly, should I need them.
