Corse wheel,help please Nat
 

Just been offered this corse wheel at a reasonable price



Is this like yours Nat?If so how did you sort your sprocket and disc carriers out?
Also does anyone have a matching front?
The spindle size is also wrong and the bearings/spacers all look different,is it worth the hassle to get it to fit,if so how much hassle?

Graham, looked into a set of proper corsa wheels a while back, and they were new and at a good price, but if my memory serves me correctly the rear uses a different cush drive ass, axle, and disc carrier.
Front uses different axle etc, also don't think the speedo ass fits either.

worked to be to much hassle and expense to be a worthwhile option for road use.

But I could be wrong.

They were my thoughts Robin,as you can see from the photo the cushdrive is nothing like the road bikes,hmmm:puzzled:

I had a pair of white three spokes in my hand today,like new,straight fit.75% lighter,but he wouldn`t sell `em,even tho he`ll never use them:mad:

It looks like an original Marchesini Corsa wheel ...
I've got the same set with my Racing 1994 ...

Take care about the sprocket carrier : 5 pins for Racing mod, compare to 6 for Strada mod.
Moreover, the rear brake disk is different : 190 mm diameter and fixed with 3 screws ...

For these wheels, the axle, the plates (along the swingarm) and the external big nuts are identified "obsolete references" by Ducati storage ... I'm currently facing this problem !!!

It should come with a specific carrier for the sprocket (DP still list sprockets or you can get Talon to make one). Spindle size should be the same ? If it is a proper 888 wheel its also been resprayed as they only ever came in satin black or Gold.

Matching front isnt an issue as you can just use a 9** jobber and get the bearings changed.

My rear went straight in but it would be worth speaking to Rob Barksfield as he had to mess about a bit to get his to fit (he came round with his micrometer and noted all the correct tolerances etc so hopefully he has still got all this info!).

Good luck ! - persereve with lightweight wheels - the difference will blow your mind mate.

Just buy the relevant cush drive of Marchesini, £103 from memory. What size are the bearings. If 17mm, they are right for 888, if 25mm you could copy my spacers.
