Just WHO is \"The Stig\"?
 

So c'mon, who do we all think "The Stig" from Top Gear is? For a long time I thought it might be Richard Burns, but sadly I think that's unlikely.

My vote now goes to ex F1 pilot Johhnny Herbert, any other offers?

It is Perry McCarthy, who used to be good enough to do a bit of F1 a few years ago

I've heard Allan McNish's name mentioned in the past, no idea if there was any truth in it though

It *was* Perry McCarthy, but iirc they "fell out" and it's someone else now...

That was when they catapaulted the jag off the end of HMS Ark Royal, hence they had to get a "new" Stig ;)

So to quote the original question, who is the Stig?
