that would be a write off if left to the insurance company good luck with the rebuild :( |
I couldnt afford the fully comp :( so i will just get the bits myself, luckily i can do the work so major saving there. Makes it a bot less painfull that there was a fair few cracks and scraches on the fairing so i was intending replacing it anyway. Wanted to fit a single seat too so that was on the list to buy too. The only thing im a bit disapointed in is the tank, it has cracked at the seam so is leaking fuel but there is barely a mark on it :( Its not like i need it back on the road anyway so i can take my time and get the bits as and when they become avaliable and cheep :) The main parts engine, frame and forks are fine so everything can be removed and replaced without too much worry. Oh and if i couldnt laugh about it, id be crying, so I know what is better ;) Stu |

There are some people who will wled or braze your leaking seam. Suggest they fill tank with sand and water first and it should present no real problems. Failing that the aircraft industry use a material called PRC to line aircraft fuel tanks. It's like rubber and you mix it with a catalyst before pouring it into the tank and sloshing it around. I used it for years in the RAF to seal tanks and it worked brilliantly. I'm sure a google search will turn up something similar. |
that must have tweaked your frame. (the bikie not your body). seeing the photos and hearing you are okay is amazing. Very lucky there, good to know as well. |
What happened? :puzzled: |
Ouch, looks painfull - you OK? :puzzled: |

We have checked the frame and forks, measured etc and they are fine luckily. most of the damage was caused by the wheel hitting a small drystone wall after falling over an exhaust box that was lying there :mad:then the right hand plastics and clipon were broke as the bike flipped back over. Bought a good helmet and i guess thats what did the buisness. [Edited on 30-1-2006 by EMPI] |
legs, arms, fingers, neck???? Helmet, boots and good upper body protection helped me get off on ice with no problem, but your bike went through hell....very lucky lad you are! |
