Windows XP help I'm trying to sort a friends computer by re installing XP. I start the installation either by booting from the cd or by running the install programme from the my computer. It goes through the process and gives me the option to do either a new install or an upgrade. I pick new install which it does. However, what i really want to do is format the drive and start from scratch as whichever way i do it windows is still retaining some of its previous settings. Question is, how do i format the boot drive under windows XP? |
Just had to redo my daughters comp. Did it by putting in XP disc & rebooting the comp, then pressF8 till you get the boot screen, select boot from CD follow instructions ,when you get to where it shows you how big your hardrive partition is, delete it then install windows xp, well i think that is what I did:( but it works spot on now:) Chris.:burn: |
Cheers Chris, i think thats what i did! |
