Lake Garda
 

I`m going to Lake Garda very soon for a couple of weeks and was interested ig there are any peeps on here that have been ther and could make and suggestions or comments on places to visit.

Are there any Ducati dealers etc too look at, from previous visits I have found that ducati bits and bobs are extreemly expensive inItaly, except for the factory shop.

Its about time we had another factory trip!

Bob, Monte Baldo in the cable car, lake cruise and I think it was Desenzano where they had the castle (could have been somewhere else!). Garda is great itself though just sitting out the front of the cafes and drinking or having the massive ice creams....

God I want to go back again!

Lake Garda is fantastic, no Ducati shops that I know of.

Lots of small moochy places, loads of nice places to eat.

Couple of the nicest imo Bardolino, Lazise & Garda, Try a boat trip around the lake, & don't forget you are only 1 1/2 hours from Venise.

Have a great time.

Usually drop by there on the way down to Misano, very scenic lake and an ideal stop off point. Some great lakeside cafes to loll about in while watching the antics of the locals. Totally different culture and its often a bit of a wrench to come back to the UK afterwards.

The Moto Guzzi factory and museum are close by. No idea if there is any links to it about tour / admission etc.
Monza is also just down the road. Go play on the banking. They also do turn-up and pay your money out you go days, check their home web site.

Was there a few days ago in a place called Limone, very nice. Travelling the lake road is very interesting to say the least, very scenic.
I get the map out later as one particular place looked very nice from the road, i'll post the name later

Stuff everyone else has said really...the cable car to monte baldo is a must.

Try and get to some of the little streets off the beaten track for some great delis and cafes.

And brush up on your german coz theres more Germans than italians round that region !!

Love it love it love it. Really didn't want to come home. I stayed down in the south west and can recommend visiting Sirmione, Manerba and Salo.

Riva Del Garda (right at the top of the lake) is very nice. There's also a Dainese Pro shop there. Salo is also very nice, although it doesn't look it from the main road that runs through it, but along the edge of the lake is lovely.

Milan, Venice, Florence & of course Bologna (?) are all within reach (full day out) in a car or by bike.

Traffic around the lake is bad.

Site is in Italian only, but it's about 5 mins off the A4 near Brescia. There were some fantastic bargains there. All the big names. Some is old stock, but they had the latest kit too.
