Colour laser printers

Anyone recommend a fairly reasonably priced colour laser? Looking up to around £300.

Best I have found so far seem to be Dell which I did not want to go to as I have an injet which costs an arm and a leg but these lasers are recommended by Computer Shopper and seem fairly cheap to run (3010 and 1815).

Everybody sing, after me

One printer company, there's only one printer company, one printer company, there's only one printer company...

Get an HP one.

;)

you mean those HP printers that are made by Canon? lol sorry Jools could not resist it. HP did develop the software to allow the printers to talk to the programme’s.

Little of nothing has changed in printer technology for the last few years so it all comes down to total cost of ownership. TCO is the important thing Paul, - Dell were not the cheapest on TCO when I last got the info through, - cheap initial cost but they do control the ink cost as they do not license anybody else to sell it for them, - no competition in the market. Dell lasers did have Xerox motors behind them, - nothing wrong with that - may still have but I am out of the loop now. The warranty was good on Dell lasers as it did include consumable parts (not ink), but think you would have to pay more for a 3 year onsite.

When doing a TCO comparison for estate replacement Brother or Kyocera could not be beaten. – I would look at these. Kyocera always the cheapest TCO although be aware that Kyocera use a different technology for their laser printers; ceramic drum, and they need to be maintained with regular service intervals.

OKI C3300-N

Got one of these about 6months ago and it rocks. Don't do real heavy colour printing, but is fairly quick, is network enabled (i wanted that for wireless printing) and duplex ready apparently. Well in your budget.

Bought it from these punters - http://www.shopoki.co.uk/acatalog/c3300.html (aka printerland.co.uk)

Depends on what you want it for i guess.

I use a Konica Minolta 2400W, it's not the quietest whilst printing but the output is good quality, especially text, photos aren't bad, consumeables are cheap, 20 ppm b/w and 5ppm colour, and best of all the printer is £150 to buy. I'd have no hesitation in recommending it, i use it for my letterheads brochures and manuals.
