Do I contest the 3 points given to me? I received 3 points at 01:30 on Sunday morning. On the M6 elevated section, middle lane, car to my immediate left (slow lane), no one outside of me (over taking lane), 1x car in front. 1x car in front brakes hard. He's seen a Police car & 2x policemen on the hard shoulder looking our way with a radar gun. I am towing my Duke. I chose not to brake hard and risk a jack-knife, I pull into the overtaking lane - which is illigal - and when we are past the "incident" of the Patrol car. I move back into the middle lane. For this I am pulled over 5 miles further on and given a fine and 3 points. Now, do I contest this? Comments appreciated. aws [Edited on 2-6-2004 by aws] |
Weeksy's right. You wouldn't really have grounds to contest it, as they would just quote to you "Leave enough space between you and the vehicle in front so that you can pull up safely if it suddenly slows down or stops."(Rule 105 if your interested!) Regards, Matt (who should get out more!) |
were the points for the speeding or the illrgal use of the outside lane ? if its the speeding you may be able to use the "more than one of u in the line of sight of the radar" argument ... if its for using the wrong lane ... no argument mate ... |
