Fuel Calculations Just drained my tank after Sundays final race and I now I'm cautious and all that, but this is mad, it had 11 litres left in it! Does any one know of a good mathematical fuel calculation? Or what do you use? I'm thinking length of track x laps plus warm up and warm down lap? Or something like that! |
Fill with known volume (10l) do qualifying laps. Count laps. Empty tank and measure volume remaining. Difference is fuel used. Divide fuel used by number of laps = L/lap. calculate fuel required race by multiplying fuel/lap x laps + 2 litres for rules compliance.;) |
quick disconnectors in the fuel line help drain the tank. Also may want to add a bit extra for restarts. Mark |
Start each race with 8 litres. Thats plenty. |

Agreed, that is what I do for bionicles bike, but I check to see how much he uses during qualy and adjust as neccesary. As for draining, use a fuel syphon pump rather than the quick connecters, causes less wear on the sealing "o" rings. Chris:burn: |
